X this is the same 💩 as the “Oracle from Omaha” pretending his secretary paid more TAXES when only mentioned INCOME taxes.

I really hoped you wouldn’t be duped by NYT and TDS.

REpublicans have a thing about paying taxes. I know one who pays no Federal Income tax, but insists he pays taxes like sales tax (tho he tries to lie his way out of that too) and property taxes.
Republicans think laws don't apply to them.

Unfortunately, a lot of corporations & individuals do this. Nothing new or illegal; it's just scummy. horse

Neither party is ever going to substantially going to change our current tax system. Both parties are addited to spending our money. fog

Nothing "scummy" about lawfully reducing taxes to or near zero.

It is just my opinion. I don't like our current tax system as you can see by the second part of my post.

Yes I am. I like to see what the proles are up too. I was on last night to pay the least amount for quality cigars which is what sensible consumers do in a market economy, even under the circumstances of greedy slimy government taxation that seeks to punish them for their sinful hobby.

Joe Biden says paying yer taxes is patriotic. I'm sure grovelling devoted subjects of the empire here agree. I'm sure as proud patriots they pay even more than they can get away with legally as they wave their flags and blindly consent to all the gubment does in their name. They are jealous though of anybody that finds a break in the voluminous tax codes of the Marxist progressive income tax system that they don't have. I don't understand why it is "scummy" or "unfortunate" that they do so.

How would Joe Biden know that paying yer taxes is patriotic when he's been a net tax consumer as a lifer politician? I wonder if the Biden's are hiding other income on their crime family operations? hmmm...
How could anyone seriously believe income taxation is patriotic when it is extracted under the threat of violence?

Did I say something to insult your man Joe Biden. Did I challenge conventional progressive thought again?
I hope so.

Or was it I quoted some old irrelevant dead guy?

What a bunch of disingenuous BS, avoiding taxes is the American way. The tax laws that allow deductions enough to pay no income taxes or get money back when you paid nothing in, were all passed by the *parliament of whores, Congress and implemented by IRS bureaucrats.

* Including Biden.

Meh, tax evasion is a federal felony I think. If the evidence is there, time for court. If not, then no. The president also is innocent untill proven guilty. The president is not above the law during his time in office as some suggest.

Any one of you who take a mortgage interest deduction or child care deduction are doing the exact same thing as Trump did, just on a different scale. Using the features of the system to pay the least amount of taxes that you legally have to.

To anyone complaining about what he did, did you send an extra $1000 beyond what you owed to the IRS this year? Why not? You are allowed to pay more than you have to.

Because a few of his business showed losses and he wrote them off?

Me thinks you are the dim bulb.

A bunch of people who likely don't understand business or tax law in here saying he is a crony for using provisions of the law (that ironically Obama signed) allowing him to write off losses.

If what he does is within the tax code... should we not wish to change the tax code, instead of getting mad at someone for following it?

Rhetorical question... those with TDS can't think logically.

That would be between your ears.

You're posting like this is real news that the NYT has his tax returns.

They don't.

This was all done in 2016 but I suppose you forgot.

taxes were either done within legal limits or not, I don't think tax cheating is really the problem by itself for the Trumps, we'll see eventually but not soon.

What I have been wondering about for a few years now is if there's any fire around the smoke regarding undervaluing properties for taxes and then overvaluing them for loans...hello DeutscheBank?
No other bank that I am aware of in the free world would loan one shekel to him anymore, and that goes back several years.

It's one thing to admire what one thinks are clever business practices to avoid paying taxes, but it's another to also admire intentional bankruptcies as ways to avoid paying banks AND other businesses that also provide Americans with jobs for their families. Many have gone out of business because they could not afford the years of chasing in court. Beating same-industry competition is one thing, destroying vendors and (sub) contractors by not honoring one's word/contractual obligation is quite another.

Legal? Perhaps.
But to admire someone for that?
Not me.

Oh and....shekels...seriously. Banks don’t loan shekels.

Tell me, exactly, how you saw the P&Ls for each of his companies going back ten years?

Because if you didn't see them, you really don't have a basis to make that statement. That just makes you a card carrying member of the "Orange man bad" club.

The american way, you got to pay, I'll find a way to get it for free, plus pay me to do it 🤭.

Give me a hamburger 🍔 today and I'll pay you Tuesday.
