More bad news, Azz Pro Sh|ts just purchased Sportsman Warehouse so they can ruin it just like they did Cablas, tons of crappy rock candy mountain (China) merchandise.

#2 GENE363 ....+1 ON THAT POST

These big box stores were the last bastions of "free retail
Commerce" when they were S.E.P.E.R.A.T.E. ENTITIES....

NOW??

when theY started gobbling / buying each other out...
NOT SO MUCH...

MONOPOLIES ARE TAKING OVER AND screwing over the civilian sportsman by these new "RULES" AND CANCELING INTERNET AMMO SALES...

IT IS TOTAL B.S. IN MY OPINION...
AND Walmart dropping pistol ammo is just stupid but they did it...plus they dropped actual gun sales near any big metropolitan city...they still have guns in Podunk towns but no "Assault rifles" and at least when they do get guns they keep the prices VERY LOW... ACTUALLY the prices are the same as before the pandemic and are not price gouging at all...even when they get some ammo it is still cheap....
I can't say that for bass Pro, Cabela's, Dunham's etc..

I thought you guys were way off base a few years back. My bad. You were right about ammunition. I suspect you will end up being right about guns. Needed said, I was wrong.

Biden isn’t to blame for ammo. Last year there was a strike at a copper mine in AZ, and there was 7 million new gun owners last year.

They are running at full capacity.

But, but, the conspiracy theories! Agree 100%

Reloaders are also talking the conspiracy thing because primer supplies have dried up. The primer factories are also working full time, but all production is going to ammo makers.

Even my shooting budy got caught."I don't have room to store a 1,000 rounds of 9mm and .223." The really low prices just before the shortages were also very seductive.

Just look at the progression of gun laws in other countries, the anti gunners will not stop.

Internet ammunition sales or internet gun sales are already illegal in California. We do background checks for ammunition sales.

This is called sensible gun laws. They’ll be exported to you all soon.

Legal internet gun sales have a federal check accomplished prior to purchaser receiving their weapon. Weapons are not shipped to individuals but to licensed dealers. Paperwork is accomplished and forwarded to the feds and once approved the individual can get their weapon.

Sensible gun laws already exist, enforce the existing laws rather than infringing the rights of citizens.

#10 H.D.

THOSE ARE N.O.T. SENSIBLE LAWS...AT ALL...
SORRY DUDE...

IN PA, WE can buy ammo & guns on the internet ( guns go through legal FFL DEALERS and are all background checked)
We have gun shows and all gun sales ARE BACKGROUND CHECKED PISTOL AND LONG GUNS)

AT most FLEA MARKETS...YOU CAN BUY ANY LONG GUN WITHOUT A BACKGROUND chk , ammo too...
No pistols can be sold at flea markets...

Annnddddd,
just like ANYWHERE IN THE USA YOU CAN BUY HOT STOLEN GUNS FROM CRIMINALS IF YOU HAVE THE
$$$$ RIGHT AMOUNT OF GREEN...
THAT is the same in California too...gangs, bikers, drug dealers, criminals SHOP AT WILL..NO BACKGROUND CHECKS..

And throw in a little panic buying by the hoarders.

I did see somewhere in the past few days that the shortage is to last well into 2021.

That wasn’t sensible enough so California made that illegal.

This has happened every election since Obama pt1 when I first started paying attention. It will last well into the summer/fall and as long as there's no serious gun/ammo control legislation introduced it will ease up and ammo will be back on shelves long enough for us all to forget about the shortages and not fill the safes.

This year was worse with the rona n stuff, the run on ammo started early. Luckily I bought a TON back in February of last year, but then with excess rounds in the safe I went shooting more and now I'm low again.

One of my cubs has a buddy that works at one of the top two sporting goods stores around Birmingham. He spoke with him tonight and he stated that today they sold 200 (500 count) boxes of 5.56 ammo within an hour. It went for $418 a box which includes tax. That is $.84 a round.

That same box two weeks ago was $385 ($.77 a round)

I got a call today from a retailer that I had made an order with at the beginning of September, 2020. They said the product H FTX JHP was back in stock and did I still want it. She laughed and said that she is required to ask. Now let's see, when I ordered it the cost was $21.00 a box and their cost now is $34.99 a box and they stated they would honor the original cost. So you can't find it, the cost is $14.00 a box cheaper and I had ordered 4 boxes for a total savings of $58.00 compared to today's price.

So what do you think I did, heck yes I want it and it is on the way.

Cheaper than Dirt should be exposed for what they have become....

And that is...

HIGHWAY ROBBERS!!!
AKA
HURRICAINE CHASERS BUYING ALL THE GENERATORS AT HOME DEPOT THEN SELLING THEM FOR QUADRUPLE PRICES IN THE PARKING LOT

I THINK the federal government should charge them with price gouging and put them all in jail...
