Got sidetracked on a Jeff Porcaro kick, then saw Kool and the Gang in the youtube feed. BAM!

Always liked Steely Dan and Boz Scaggs... had no clue Jeff was their session drummer before starting Toto.

Saw Beck Bogert and Appice in May ‘73. Sat in the 1st or 2nd row, Stage Left, in front of the speaker stacks. Ears rang for a couple of days. I’m sure that night contributed to the hearing loss in my left ear.

The Black Crowes - Started with Shake Your Money Maker and just kept going. One of the best rock bands of the past 30 years in my humble opinion.

You're in luck!!!

New Black Crowes material!

https://youtu.be/qu6yi_IjeWw

This is part of a repackaged "Shake Your Money Maker"

To me it sounds like Rod Stewart or Faces...Really a ripoff of "Hot Legs"...either way its a band that needs to be together and needs to be heard and touring. Proud to have seen them on each and every tour since they started.

Saw them as the opening act for The Michael Schenker Group back in 1990. Nobody had really heard of them, so we were standing right in front of the stage. Great group

Played that a lot while on deployment in 1999. Not a bad song on the album.

Megadeth - So far, So good.... So what
Interesting coincidence in listening order. Dimebag was once invited to join Megadeth, but they had a drummer and wouldn't take Vinny too. So he declined and they put out CfH instead

Metallica lost quality music/lyrics when they booted Mustaine... Good for us though because we gained Megadeth. Listen to Cryptic Writings a lot. Not a bad song on that album.

I feel the same way for Super Collider as well.

It's at the point where his catalog has surpassed Metallica's as far as Metal goes. Metallica's last album Hardwired To Self-Destruct was a return to form. They're back recording now so I only hope the infusion of Robert to the band stops the rest of those chuckleheads going back to sit down to pee idiots.

Agreed on Hardwired. Breathed a sigh of relief on hearing the title track. Don't know if the cranial/rectal separation can be attributed to Robert though. He was around for Death Magnetic and the abomination known as St. Anger

Edit: Retraction - Trujillo came in just after Anger was finished. Didn't mean to malign him
