In some areas, the guidelines for distributing the vaccine seem to have been ignored and I raised a couple questions in another thread.

that was the primary reason given for trashing them...agencies were too afraid to ignore the guidelines when they had more than they needed to jab the tier 1A folks and couldn't get approval to go to lower tiers...some places ignored the guidelines after the first shots were given and they had left overs, gave them to random peeps...

Some of you think this is OK because the health care facilities are using common sense when they seem to have extras.

This led me to the following couple of questions:

BuckyB93 wrote:
So you're OK that pharmacies ignore guidelines and inject random peeps with the vaccine?

What if Trump tweeted that people should check in at your local healthcare places, pharmacies, etc. because they have leftover doses and that these places should ignore guidelines and go ahead and give any leftovers to anyone asking for them, even stop passerbys to offer the injections
?

You guys would be foaming at the mouth about impeachment, overstepping bounds, ignoring the science professionals, malpractice, inciting mobs to storm the healthcare facilities and any other blather you could come up with.

Tell me I'm wrong.

No. I was referring to the guidelines themselves. The root.

But it's still OK for them to ignore the guidelines and go ahead and act on their own?

Again, if Trump tweeted for them to do this what would your reaction be?

Allow me to jump into TW's headspace for a moment.

1) Damn, my azz hurts. When will it stop? Guess I really was full of chit.

2) If Trump were to tweet exactly as you stated, then yes, he would be met with ridicule. Overwhelming facilities that don't have the supply to meet demand will end badly.

However, if he were to come up with something along the lines of empowering these vaccine facilities to come up with a procedure to create a wait list after the local 1a needs were met in order to use doses effectively as opposed to tossing them in the garbage, this would be chalked up to common sense.

3) Wrong forum, noob. Political inflammation can be had at any number of other threads on a daily basis

SOB's #2 (yuck) leads me to ask the following additional questions.

Is it the president's responsibility to come up with the guidelines and acceptable options for deviating from these guidelines or is it the responsibility of an anointed team of health care/distribution professionals?

Do the president or the health care professionals allow the vaccine facilities to deviate from the original guidelines as they see fit based on their "common sense?"

That doesn't sound like a very sound strategy. If Trump were to do that or encourage that, you'd be all over him for it. But it sounds like some folks are OK with it.

I thought that if we were to follow and obey the professional's guidelines during this pandemic, we'd be out of the woods by now. However, some of you appear to be fine with some facilities going rogue and deviating from the plan based on "common sense."

I answered on the other thread. I disagree with your premise rendering the rest moot.

But I’m knee deep in this every day plus have an insertion to do. I think you are just looking at this through a very limited political filter and I’m tired of it lol.

And Bucky I don’t mean that like it sounds. I’m not trying to be dismissive. I am literally tired of it. I have covid fatigue and specifically vaccination distribution fatigue. It’s the bulk of my job right now.

I am personally involved in the distribution and administration process for some groups and areas. I know very well how systems are set to get this in arms and how efforts are set to get it in the right folks without wasting doses which means some folks get lucky I know someone on this forum that benefited from this because we discussed it privately. It’s nothing clandestine.

Some States effed things up and some providers did as well.

And imho the fed distribution has been effed up as well.

I think they put the vaccine in DrafterX’s butt instead of his arm.

We’re STILL waiting for the state to establish healthcare workers order here in my county. I probably should have just said I was black when I was in LA and got one.
