Mine does... I have a Toro leaf blower that has another attachment and a bag to switch it from a blower to a vacuum. Pretty handy, actually. Get the leaves blown into one corner of the yard and then vacuum them up... dump the bag into the green waste bin.

Often I will just rake them and use the vacuum, but it does both. https://tinyurl.com/y2k5d6wm

cool...Ima havta get one that reverses...always hated the clean-up with a broom/rake after blowing stuff into a corner...

Cold storm is headed out but not before it left snow on the mountains down to 2000 ft about a mile from me. Got down to 35 about 2pm today which is very cold for the desert.

Happy Tuesday. Might actually get to use the snow blower today. Did not feel like waking up the neighbors at 5am with it, was able to drive right over it. If the wife doesn't do it during the day I know what I'm doing when I get home!

Yeah... still here. Frost on the grass. 30 degrees. That warm snap we had is gone.

Mornin' dudes.

Had sleet a couple of times yesterday, and a few times over the last week or so.

We had high 60's, low 70's and even had a day or two in the upper 70's low 80's to start the month... and now it's nut freezing cold. Frost all over the grass at the park today. Was collecting on my boots and coming off in ice clumps.

Dog didn't give a sh-t. He ran around and rolled in the grass anyway. Played with 3 other dogs for about an hour and a half. Sleeping at my feet right now, but the SOB* is gonna want to play in an hour or so. Brick wall

*literal meaning... No relation to our SOB, of course.

freezing rain or sleet...we had some on Saturday a few times during the day...was 37 at 8am today...going up to a "high" of 54

sleet refers to ice falling in winter...refreezing as it falls through a warm zone in the atmosphere down through a colder one...

hail is ice falling in the other three seasons from a thunderstorm

I did not know that... I thought sleet was rain that went through a cold zone and froze on its way down and hail was just bigger clumps of it.

"Sleet forms in winter storms, while hail is a warm-season type of precipitation. As noted above, sleet forms when snow melts in a warm layer and then refreezes into ice pellets as it falls though a cold layer. Hail, however, forms in spring, summer or fall thunderstorms." - da google

Gov. Newsom's limited re-opening order takes effect today; hair salons and outdoor dining OK...non-essential travel and lodging OK...

maybe take a drive somewhere to get a haircut...it's been about five months since my last cut

edit: not today...checked a few on-line check-ins for hair salons...minimum wait times of 2 hours, many places with 3+ hr waits...

FREEZING RAIN

Just like regular rain, freezing rain starts out as frozen precipitation high in the atmosphere, then melts into rain drops as it passes through warmer air. And, just like regular rain, it falls to the ground as rain -- except it freezes when it hits cold surfaces or objects, such as roads, trees and power lines.

SLEET

Lots of people confuse sleet with freezing rain. If you're sitting in your car in the winter and you hear the clattering of small pellets hitting your roof and windshield and bouncing off, that's sleet. It starts out as frozen precipitation high in the atmosphere, melts as it hits a layer of warm shallow air, then refreezes into small ice pellets before hitting the ground or other objects, like your car.

Graupel looks like tiny snowballs, and is different from hail and sleet. Graupel forms when falling snowflakes collide with raindrops. The snowflakes get sticky and stick together in a clump of snowflakes. The falling motion rounds off the flakes, and makes a tiny, slightly bouncy snowball.

Yous guy are all full of chit as a Christmas goose. When a big hunk of hail hits your noggin you'll know. Thousands of folks had major damage to their cars and roofs a few years ago by those frozen snowballs as big as golf balls here.

Call it what ya want.

I bought clippers back in March. Best investment ever! Have driven the wife to Reno for her hair appointment. It was amazing what freedom was like in Reno and Las Vegas.

It is under consideration. Maybe Austin TX. I hear that’s a great place that Californians are ruining!
