Oh Please! You get your analysis from a third rate Yahoo Sports writer?
None of you Chicom Biden fans even knows what 'capitalism" is, so how could you determine the difference between "unregulated capitalism" and "regulated capitalism"?
Clearly the politicians and the ERCOT bureaurats, a third of which don't even live in Texas set the stage for this disaster...well because they love being central planning experts instead of leaving the responsibility and risks to individual energy providers to provide excess capacity to properly service their customers when needed (because that would be real capitalism).
I don't know how many times you have to read into the plan to figure it out, but it definitely isn't laissez-faire. But nothing will convince the nitwits that the Texas system isn't a deregulated energy market. Of course nitwits would define a deregulated energy market as anything not overseen by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)

Board Leaders Of Texas Power Grid Resign After Blackout Outrage

Quote:
The chair of Texas’s power grid operator and four other board members have resigned in the wake of the widespread outrage resulting from the energy crisis that crippled the state’s electrical system.

According to a filing by the PUC of Texas, Electric Reliability Council of Texas Chair Sally Talberg resigned along with Vice Chair Peter Cramton and board members Raymond Hepper, Terry Bulger, Vanessa Anesetti-Parra,/

In their resignation letter, the member cited recent concerns raised about out-of-state board leadership at the grid operator. “To allow state leaders a free hand with future direction and to eliminate distractions, we are resigning from the board effective after our urgent board teleconference meeting adjourns on Wednesday, February 24, 2021."

this article discusses relationship between Texas' power companies and their PUC, ERCOT, who recommended some equipment modifications after the freeze in 2011 .... they met resistance to this regulation from the power companies, who didn't want to spend the money for preventative measures...

“Too often, power companies get exactly what they want out of the PUC,” said Tim Morstad, associate director of AARP Texas. “Even well-intentioned PUC staff are outgunned by armies of power company lawyers and their experts. The sad truth is that if power companies object to something, in this case simply providing information about the durability of certain equipment, they are extremely likely to get what they want.”

That depends. If the supply of product in a free market goes up faster than the demand, competition for the consumer dollar may drive the price down. That capitalist model doesn't fit with the Texas situation with it's multiple layers of bureaucracy, politicians, experts and lawyers between the producers and the consumer.

Precisely.

Left alone, a private entity would never manipulate the supply or collude with other suppliers to maximize profits at the expense and detriment of the consumer, regardless of the situation. The primary goal of true capitalism is humanitarian endeavors...

Private sector cartels where producers collude amongst each other to raise prices never work because somebody always cheats.
Only government can create a cartel under the guise of law and make it stick. A lot more hands in the consumers pocket that way too.
But when something goes catastrophically wrong like in Texas the finger pointing starts among the players. .

no, but they do so much harm before we know they know they're hurting people...by the time we learn of reasons to decide not to buy their stuff, many people no longer have the choice to avoid their products...every one of those corporations had internal documents that showed they were aware of the harm they were causing...

just making a point that unregulated capitalism may not be good for us, just like over-regulation isn't good for us...

Last time I looked a very large part of superfund sites were military installations. I think that is government. AZ has many drinking water problems near quite a few such sites.
