Hello all,

Any tips on reviving torch lighters that won't hold a flame? I now have 3 torch lighters that will initially spark up but not hold a flame at all. I've tried the can air and purge of the fuel with no luck. I used vector fuel and one lighter is a pretty expensive Vector tabletop torch that maybe worked for 2 months before it started acting up.

Thanks for your input!

I faced a similar situation with a Xikar lighter and after a couple of tries with the canned air as well as having to empty out the lighter a couple of times, I was so frustrated so just blasted the air into each of the (2) nozzles for like 15 seconds. Refilled and golly, gee whiz, the lighter worked again!

Dunno if that will work for you but at this point in time, worth a try?

I read it as Butt Hunter... but I like yours better.

Hello Butt Hole Hunger.... what he said.

If the azz trick don't work, then next time buy a cheaper lighter. They all use the same Chinese made crap. There's no difference, they all suck.

^ it's this kind of racist privilege talk that is causing so much trouble. Is it really the Chinamens fault your azz gazz can't satiate butt hunger?

Batting .200 on this site is quite remarkable and definitely could be worse.

As for your handle, I thought the "BT" was for "Buffalo Trace".

Pretty remarkable indeed.

I think your issue is with the vector fuel. I was using the same stuff and my xikar was puffing all the time. I switched to the Colibri 99.9999999999999999999999999999912% refined stuff. My Xikar has been running like a champ ever since.

^^^^^ yes. The colibri brought all my lighters back from the dead. No trouble since. I think they are cheating out on the fluids. I believe the colibri helps clean the old sh it out of the lighters. Maybe it dissolves the gunk the other fluids leave. I wouldn’t believe it but this happened. I’d recommend a can. It would be a cheap try. It took several tanks. All my lighters are working well again.

Search for a posting called "I had really bad gas" ..

The very issue was raised, you might get some answers there if you read the thread.

Good luck

Serious... all lighters suck, even xikars.

You want true advice? Buy the bulk cheapies.

Cheap pricks topic is the one that got me to buy better gas.. I’ve heard the Purofine is really good stuff too. I think Borge the xikar and the colibri have the 99.9999999999999999999999% purity.

I agree with better gas... just don't expect a $30 - $50+ lighter to perform better or last longer than a $3 amazon lighter. They don't.
