As I said...new year, new start to the old program.

YOU MUST BE AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE FORUMS TO PARTICIPATE!!!!!!!!!!!
(Noobs must be active for two months at the very least.)
(back to your regularly scheduled program)

ATTENTION NOOBS!!!

YOU MUST BE AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE FORUMS TO PARTICIPATE!!!!!!!!!!!

Background: This thread is designed to allow new members to get a good sampler of cigars from an experienced smoker. It also has the underlying intent of fostering the brotherhood whereas an experienced smoker provides mentorship and advice about which cigars are in (their) opinion the best out there. Listed below are “Some” specifics that will help us to get started. Previously it has been about the destruction of Noob’s mailboxes. I am interested in feedback, especially if there is something that I did not clearly articulate.

Explanation: What is the Newbie Sampler?

A specific thread where a Newbie (or anybody new to CBID) can trade for a variety of Cigars. The experienced guy would help the Newbie decide which cigars best fits their tastes based upon the feedback from the Newbie and would tell the Newbie what he would want in return for the sampler. The Newbie would get the “experienced” guy what he wanted and the "experienced" guy would send the Newbie a nice package of assorted cigars.

Benefits: Why would I want to trade with these people?

1. First and foremost, time and money will be saved by the new person.
2. The new person will receive a large variety of smokes. All of which have been well maintained and are not dog rockets.
3. Mentoring from an experienced cigar smoker.
4. A start to a good trader rep on Cbid

Mechanics: How is the trade going to work?

Either an experienced smoker will inform me that they are ready to take on a Newbie or I will query for Newbies looking to be assigned a Vet. A new person would post that they are interested in getting a sampler. At that point I will query for Vets to step up and be willing to "sponsor" a Noob. I will assign the Newbie a Vet. The experienced trader(Vet) would post on the thread PM sent and reply to the Newbie. The deal would then be handled between the two people and the experienced trader would update the thread by posting Newbie trade completed with (insert tag here). Listing of damages is always desired. Noob always sends first!
This will allow everyone to see the progress of the Newbie thread.

Summary: If the trade does not work out where both people are totally satisfied then either or both parties can contact me and I will do my best to make it right.

VETS: Let me know if you are interested in being assigned a Noob.

Remember noobs this is not in any way about how much you send to your vet, there is no need to feel like you need to impress us. This is more about trading credibility and making friends.

Have fun!!!!!!

Clando, this is one that takes place after some history has been generated. I'd recommend looking up the Noob PIB and PIB wants/non-elite to get into the swing of things and build some trade cred. Also, consider posting an intro in general discussion so peoples can get to know you

Jpkulp....looks like you are off to a good start. Per the rules that were established before my time in this role...I will hold off for a bit more. 2 months is the golden rule.

Stinger are you making any queries? I’m interested in spreading my wings from the other PIBs

What's this Vet talk? I came in and got reprimanded and smacked around. Then bombed and threatened. Why so mean to the n00bs?
I thought this is where we got free stuff.

I would be interested in a trade. I have a few go to cigars that I smoke but would be interested in expanding my flavor profiles a bit.

Take a look at the first post. Herfing

While you’re waiting for your two months to pass, do a couple / few trades on the nOOB PIB to build some trade cred.

Head over to noob pib post and pick up whoever is up in that. Then it would be your turn to be picked up by the next person. Also might want to make an intro post so the crew can get to know ya a little. Also if you get asked questions, remember pancakes, it's always pancakes.

I suspect that this grand CBid tradition is heading for extinction...

It's discouraging when we do set up a noob/vet trade that many of the noobs don't hang around, contribute, or even participate/post after being treated with kindness and generosity...

I have to admit some of the fault is mine...I didn't do a great job nurturing the noobs I traded with and they have all flown the coop...

Your last noob fled due to politifatigue by his own admission. Don't know that ya could've nurtured him through that one

I’m still down to do this. Although I need to wait until I have my own sticks to send. Every time I win some sticks on CBID, I have sent them away in a PIB before I know I it. 😂
