Ya, I remember that phase... back when the fda final rule was looming and every manufacturer was rushing product names to the market with whatever cigars they could slap a band on...

Magic toast and Peter pan were the two I remember being ok... but if I'm not mistaken, I got more of both of those further down the line and they were no longer the same cigar...

Is what it is... nowadays I wouldn't smoke an Alec Bradley with my worst enemies butthole, let alone my own mouth... that was too harsh... ab's aren't that bad...

My #1 is always the one I'm lighting that I haven't tried yet. That ranking may not hold through the entire smoke
The rest of the list is fluid. Right this second I'll say
Asylum 7
Stolen Throne Crook
LFD Volcada
That pumpkin head Tatuaje that Honizuka gifted me

I still have mine that Homer gave me when we were at a Tat / MF smoker 4 years ago. It is an event-only cigar so we should consider ourselves a bit lucky for his generosity. Herfing

3. Padron 1926 Maduro
4. Hoyo de Montery Black Knight
5. Oliva Serie V Melanio Maduro

At least that's the current Top 5 rotation. Occasionally, I swap one or two out for a Montecristo, CAO Brazilia, something in the AVO range, or possibly a Perdomo.Herfing

Hmm, Top 5... Think

Always a tough question for me as it depends on how you define “Top”. Nonetheless, my Top 5 is based upon what I want to grab to smoke when I go spur-of-the-moment humi-diving. but here goes:

A. Fuente 8-5-8 Maduro or Sungrown - depends on what day of the week and/or box I pull from
A. Fuente Anejo #46
A. Fuente Casa Cuba Divine Inspiration
A. Fuente Mag R44
Tatuaje Petit Cazadores Reserva

Upon further review, I’mma liking the Warped Chinchalle right now. Maybe not enough to supplant any of my Top 5 but I think with more rest, they’re gonna be a marvelous smoke.

Firstly, if you put your actual email address as your username on a forum, your inbox will get exactly what you deserve 😁 .

B. My very first win on cbid was for some gurkha's. I ended up sending them to Carson with ample warning about how awful they were. He smoked them, then shortly after got sick and quit smoking cigars. You've been warned.

Now, those Serie V are tasty....

While Gurkhas aren't on my Top 5 list .... or even my Top 10 - I can't say that I've ever had a bad experience with one (and I've had plenty over the years). The only thing about Gurkhas is that, for a brand with 57 varieties, there is very little variation in their flavors.

And I definitely agree about the Serie V. The Melanio Maduro is on my Top 5 list.

In no particular order.

La Gloria Cubana Wavell
Aging Room Quattro Nicaraguan Maestro
Drew Estate Herrera Esteli Habano Toro Especial
La Aroma De Cuba Mi Amor Reserva Maximo
Montecristo Nicaragua Toro

All of these pair well with a Balvenie Doublewood Scotch or Glenmorangie Original 10 year old. JMO

Yeah I've noticed that as well with the few I've smoked over the years.

If I had to pick one single cigar to smoke for the rest of my life based on price, performance, consistency and availability it would be...

Padron 2000 Maduro, hands down.

If I had to pick one single cigar to smoke for the rest of my life based on price, performance, consistency and availability it would be the My Father Le Bijou 1922.
Or the Tatuaje Reserva Broadleaf.
Possibly the Padron 1926 Series 40th anniversary.
Or even the Diamond Crown Maximus.

Without a doubt…

If I had to smoke one cigar for the rest of my life it would have to be longer than franks third leg and burn really slow since I'm not planning on tapping out of life anytime soon.

That’s a good choice.
I’m down to my last two unopened boxes of those.......they got About 5 years on them now.
Used to be able to snag those at the other place for a GREAT price before MAP pricing.
I actually prefer the 3000 Maduro, but the 2000s were much easier to score for cheap.

I was most CERTAINLY warned about those Gurkha's from Stogie1020! To each their own, I suppose, but I'll never smoke another Gurkha as long as I live.

Good to see you too buddy! I swing by now and then. If I had thought about it, I would have jumped in on the V-herf on Saturday. I had my first cigar since October of 2020 as a birthday gift to myself. A beautiful OSOK Desmadroso that's been chilling in the tupperdor for a couple years.
