Are you talking about an auction where there are lots of items in it?

If so, set your price and get in early. If not, you pay more.

^Yup... if the lot you are bidding on has 10 lots, and I am the first bidder and bid $5 on all 10 lots, then you come along and bid $10 on 3 lots... I lose 3 of them to you and win the other 7 at $5.

Moral of the story... bid early, bid often, and if you lose a bid... you're weak!

The best way to ALWAYS win is to put a max bid of, say $1000, for each item. Make your actual bid whatever you want, but whatever anyone else bids, you will always win (up to $1000).

Guaranteed to work.

Thanks for keeping the lights on.
