So is there any way to bring a bone-dry cigar back to life? My wife and daughter used to do the Ensenada cruise, and they always brought be back Cubans. I have two left. Dry as a witch's . . . well, you get it. Am I doomed?

I'm pretty sure it depends on how dry they actually got. If the oils in the tobacco actually dried out i think you're screwed.

If they were in glass top cases I would t waste my time. At this point, even if they were real they’re beyond being salvaged to anything near original quality.

Glass top case? That's how all the bestest ones are sold, complete with inkjet printer bands.

In all seriousness, they may be salvageable if they are slowly brought back to your desired humidity level. Slow is the key so they can kinda get there without the wrapper splitting. I've never tried so I don't have any real world experience.

Else, just pawn them off to a drunk buddy who doesn't know any better.

Goggle can be your friend.

I didn’t watch the whole video but these guys seemed to know what they’re doing:

I brought some back with a cigar box and a damp paper towel.

It wasn’t super scientific but they were out for a couple years. Honestly they were just mellow. Probably not what they once were.
