Gonna pour a piggyback. If you like a spicy rye it’s pretty nice.

J B Roland Dark Fired Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 🥃 yesterday afternoon.

112 proof roasted corn with butter flavor. Never thought I’d pay $70 for a bottle. Was wrong.

I’ve never had better.

Russ, you mean MB Roland Dark Fired Whiskey?

It's $45 at total wine... in Indiana. None in Temecula.

2 little snifters of ECSB.

Hi there Paul.
Thought about you just the other day...we were buying a couple bags of Georgia peaches from a local nursery that gets a special delivery every year!

Hope all is well and you're happy living in Uppa U.S.

Gents, I love me some bourbon, but really only have experience with Eagle Rare, Buffalo Trace, etc.

Looking for a few reasonably priced ryes to try that will give me a good feel for what a rye should be.

Suggestions?

I’m no expert but after trying a few, the one rye that I always come back to is Sazerac.

Old Forester is pretty good too.

Thanks Palama, that one was on my short list, but I really have nothing to base the list on other than a bunch of internet "best of" lists I read...

^its so overpriced now….and it used to be a favorite of mine. For what they charge I’d rather buy two bottles of OF 1920 or a bottle of A’bundah and have money left over.

Maker Mark.

The beer is low abv.

Bib and Tucker small batch.

Told the guy at Total Wine I liked EC and asked for a recommendation... he pointed me to this. Said it was like EC, but more flavor... ok, I'll try it.

A tad sweet, strong on the nose, less flavor, more burn. I think I'll stick with you asshats for recommendations.

I'll drink it... but it is not better than EC.

The bottle I tried tasted salty and overpriced.

I like to think I stay unbiased maybe there was a placebo effect but it tasted salty not briny IMO.
