I like the Jefferson Reserve extra aged or something….can’t remember but it’s not the bone stock one. My point was I don’t dislike their stuff just didn’t care for the Ocean.

The bottle I tried tasted salty and overpriced.

I like to think I stay unbiased maybe there was a placebo effect but it tasted salty not briny IMO.

I had similar thoughts on, I think, a bottle from Voyage 3 or 4. Bought it for my friend's surprise birthday party in 2015 and didn't think it was worth the coin.

I didn't think Jefferson Ocean was very good. More of a novelty. The salt definitely comes through though.

I recieved an email from Masiano's about two months ago announcing their latest and final Four Roses Select Barrel.
Evidently, Four Roses has discontinued their Select Barrel program.

Needless to say, I called the next day and all the bottles had been sold.

It was a good run while it lasted.

Well, as Bob Hope used to sing, "Thanks for the memory".

Really appreciate the two bottles you got for me. Beer

Got a bottle of Buffalo Trace this morning. I asked my buddy, Art, "You want me to bring beer or a new bourbon to try?"

His reply? Simply... "bourbon".

So, I'll be sampling Buffalo Trace today.

Michter's Unblended American Whiskey.

they make better bourbon and rye for similar coin, but it's OK.
A little light for me, despite 41.7 ABV

Fistful of bourbon

Nothing incredible but not bad for $24

Maybe even pretty decent at that price.

Easy to drink and smoothish but not much depth.

Gummy at that price point I’d look at Early Times BIB, Evan Williams BIB and 1793, Elijah Craig and Old Forester 100

George Dickel Barrel select - tiny ice cube... damn good, too... but I liked the WT 101 better.
