Take the "Red Dawn" angle out of it and it still sucks for gun enthusiasts. I miss having target shooting as a hobby. My buddy is a big AK guy, I like em over AR's too, and he was pretty disappointed when I told him the ammo supply was going to go from bad to worse.

I'm glad I learned how to be proficient with pistols and rifles early on in my life. I used to shoot hundreds of rounds in one session, several times a week. Now I don't really have to train that much--kinda like riding a bike for me.

My brother lives in a small city about 2 1/2 hours away from me and some company was supposed to build an ammo plant in the area--that was in 2015. 6 years later and it's still in the works. Lol I'm pretty skeptical that U.S. ammo manufacturers will step up and fill the need for cheap steel cased ammo. They never seem to be able to prepare for the next crisis whether it be gun control proposals or otherwise.

Ammo buying was slow during the first 3 years of the Trump administration. Ammo manufacturers could have put on a third shift at their plants during that time and stockpiled product in preparation for the next crises, which always provokes a gun and ammo buying frenzy here in the U.S. They didn't. And now it's 2013 all over again. So this "we'll just make it in America" is the right kind of thinking imo, but will we? Idk.

On a brighter note, my brother says that Tulammo (Russian steel cased ammo manufacturer) has a plant here in the United States. So maybe they will ramp up their production sometime soon.

The NRA really needs to step up it's ad campaigns. It's like they don't even try anymore.

Between 2013 and 2016, the US gave Afghan forces more than 600,000 light weapons, such as M16 and M4 rifles and nearly 80,000 vehicles, as well as night vision goggles, radios and more, according to a 2017 Government Accountability Office report. Even more recently, the US Defense Department supplied the Afghan military with 7,000 machine guns, 4,700 Humvees and more than 20,000 grenades between 2017 and 2019, a report from the special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction found. (The GAO and the special inspector general removed these reports at the request of the State Department to protect any Afghans identified within.)

In the last two years alone, the US has also given the Afghan military more than 18 million rounds of 7.62mm and .50-caliber ammunition, according to a tally of the special inspector general's quarterly reports.

The US GAVE away 18 million rounds of 7.62 and .50 cal????

Yet the DNC will lecture you about more than 5 round clips????

Better wake up and see the hypocrisy!

The DNC is a terrorist organization!

Bro the NRA is a joke. Wayne Lapierre is a steaming pile of 💩.

They exist now for high end gun collectors, some gun manufacturers and the types of hunters that most of us sportsman laugh at.

DMV,

I miss the American Rifleman magazine...

Great articles and a I miss the guaranteed Harbor Freight
Coupon page inside it...and "the armed citizen" page Of real life crime stopped by gun owners was my favorite...along with the military history of all firearms...

I had a three yr memberhip that lapsed about 3? Yrs ago...
The leadership scandal really pissed me off...

I can remember when a lifetime membership was
$10 K or $5 k... I think it has dropped to $1,000 now?
Maybe even $500?
