Ok Gentlemen it's been a LONG TIME so who's ready to get this thing started again!?
Let's get as many as we can signed up playing and we'll figure out the payout after we get a final number!

Looking forward to a little competition and chit talking once again! Herfing

games start on 09/03/2021

Rules:

1) Ante is 10 cigars.

2) You have up until 5 minutes prior to the beginning of each game to make your selection.

3) Once the contest is over and shooting solutions are plotted, please endeavor to complete your fire control missions in a timely manor. Two weeks should be more than sufficient.

4) If you are interested, post in the thread first( ie: "IN") , the send me a PM. I'll send you the Group ID and password.

Ante Guidelines.

1) Absolutely no dog turds. One would expect to receive quality smokes. Therefore, one should be willing to risk the same. No five or ten packs of $2-$3 cigars. Though one may enjoy them, most others would consider them yard gars at best. Likewise, a $50 Gurkha that retails for $3 is not considered a good cigar.

2) Keep in mind that in the past most players included at least a few aged premiums therefore it is only fair that all others endeavor to risk something similar.

3) On the other hand, it is understood that not everyone has a stash of aged super premiums. But, there should be ample time between now and the end of the contest to pick up a selection of good, though not necessarily aged cigars.

To play you have to meet one of the following:

1) Been a Cbid member for at least 6 months and have 3 verifiable completed trades, or have a vet vouch for you.

2) If you don't meet 1) then PM me. We can arrange for you to send me your ante and 1 extra stick to cover postage.

I’m sorry but, I texted Chris earlier. I’m in the direct path of beotch named Ida. Based on local predictions we are expected CAT 1 or 2 winds and 15” of rain when it hits use Monday morning. I may be without electricity for a few weeks among others issues.

Csgamecock, just curious but are we going against the spread this year? It looks like that is the setting. I kept wondering why some of my picks were coming up as a loss. If we stay that way, I will be picking a lot differently next week.

yeah it took me a minute to realize spread was in affect. Thought yahoo was just showing me the odds.

It makes sense though, because straight up would prob be a lot of ties with everyone taking all the same favorites.

I didn't select it ..... I'll check and see but it wasn't supposed to be set up that way.

ok so i looked and I did screw up this year, I thought I had deselected the spread but I didn't, I deselected the confidence picks only.

I can either leave it as is or I can create a new group (can't change it in this one now) and basically make the 1st week null and void.

Let me know what you guys want and majority rules.
Sorry I had no idea I messed up guys

Since i'm last in line, i'm not going to vote and will let the leaders decide. I'm fine with whatever the decision is.

Doesn't matter to me but, I do like the idea of the spread not making as many games a gimme pick.

I'm fine either way...

tho I had gotten comfortable with picking the winners without regard to the spread...made it much easier, and less work...beating the spread means more effort...so I'm kinda leaning in that direction
