Is Cbid and Cigars International the same company? Pardon my ignorance, but I see both are run by a guy named Steve.....

CigarBid and Cigars International are two separate companies that operate from the same location.

You almost answered your own question.
Now remember to open CI and NEVER bid more than you can go buy them outright, unless you want to help support my habbit, heheheeee.

Another bit of advise, go read up on the Newbie threads posted throughout, and it will save you some future embarrasments.

So sit back, duct tape in, and enjoy the ride!!!

No problem, now you know, heheheeeee.

The thread does mention, "Keep Cigar International's site open for price comparison." Right there should/could give a newbie a clue. We're just trying to help, and I emphasize trying. We all were there at one point in time.

I've been a customer of CigarBid (and to a lesser degree CI) since the beginning when Keith and John started this company.... and after they sold out to Swedish Match these two companies (especially CB) have seriously declined. i've spend OVER $70,000 ON CB and CI (NOT an exaggeration) ALLL for PERSONAL CONSUMPTION... and trust me, the changes are bordering intolerable. The new mindset is ONLY about profit. i'm only still here because i'm too lazy to find another place to purchase cigars. ZERO RESPECT to someone who has spent over $70,000.... and frankly, someone who spends $70 deserves the same respect that i do.

I knew John and Keith personally and they were both amazing guys (especially John). John had invited me to his office at Headquarters, then gave me a fabulous VIP tour of the CB/CI headquarters and they appreciated my business. The new owners don't give a flip about me (or you) and don't even know i exist.

You're like the only fog left on this site that still buys here.

And frank has been worried sick... something about his overbidding offspring or something.

SeaCoast you seem like a good egg, so let me let you know about a little secret here is long time forum guys know about. The new owner of CBid is Named Dave, and he really likes taking care of the longtime guys here when we occasionally hit a bump in the road.

Call (214) 914-3337 9-4 central and ask for Dave, tell him jaderose sent you and he’ll get you taken care of!

Thank you, Sir. I'm impressed... and trust me, i look forward to someone who brings back some of my previous great love for this company. i meant what i said, someone who spends $70 is just as important as me... arguably more important in that might be a very special treat to him. mine are also a treat but also just a commodity. lol

Thank you, Frank. Newbie or Old Timer... i've never met a cigar smoker i didn't like. there's probably one out there somewhere but something about a good cigar that makes everyone more accepting and more equal. ❤

We're a rebellious lot and never stopped our herfs. I have no idea why the FDA, the WHO and the CDC wouldn't approve my scientific study application but we conducted it anyway and self-funded it. i had the theory that coveted fumes from premium cigars combined with high-quality liquor kills any deadly germs (if you catch my drift). Sure, this raised a few eyebrows from skeptics in the medical community but my response was... "my scientific study isn't any more absurd than yours are!!"

Now, we would never dream of disobeying our Leaders who love to control the people and only have our best interest at heart (LMAO) but since this was an un-authorized scientific study, we felt comfortable setting our own rules. Like any scientific study, we felt it was necessary for the participants to adhere to radical standards.. (some might say crazy but what do they know... let them create their own scientific study!).

If a few of us died, then we accepted the fact that's what happens in scientific research... after all, the entire world was looking for answers and we just wanted to help!! (....and on a side note, if nobody dies then the medical community might not feel like we pushed the boundaries far enough or accept the results!). With that in mind, the herf participants (all like-minded, close friends) weren't allowed to wear a mask, there was no social distancing, we shared bottles (NO glasses) and you had to prove you weren't vaccinated. (we had to just take everyone's word for the anti-vaxx part).

Well, the research was a blast and nobody died (OR caught anything!!) ...but not for lack of trying.

((PS. this Post is for ADULTS ONLY who have a sense of humor. If you don't qualify, then you shouldn't be reading this. Go pour yourself a glass of milk and turn on CNN))

also, a larger part of the reason our cbid herfs stopped was the distance for several of the guys.
Bucky comes from Gahdnah, tail from da Cape, Mandobro from Maine, rman from Cow Hampshire, etc.
edin508 and I live in the same area but pretty much everyone else had to be available for a day of travel just to get together...

yes, absolutely. i'm the worst one.

obviously i was joking about it being a "scientific study" ....but i wasn't joking about the things we've done. keep in mind we're all like-minded friends and none of us have ever gotten sick from what we do.

i'm completely impressed to hear the distance your herf friends have driven.... but it doesn't surprise me, clearly you're a great guy.

Lets forget the fact he is 100% spot on correct about his assertions...

These douche-nozzles have EVERY Padron auction and EVERY VSG auction (the only cigars I will buy from these dipsh-ts) as SINGLES.

Eat a fat richard swedish match.

Thank you, Sir. i appreciate the support. my words were admittedly harsh... but everything i said was true. i'm ALLLL FOR a company that wants to make money but when it's done at the expense of good service to the customer, now they have a BIG problem with me. the shipping changed from UPS ground to Sure Post.... BUT WHAT I PAY FOR SHIPPING WAS NEVER REDUCED. the new flap-less bottom boxes are GARBAGE and have openings in the construction (and are made out of thinner material!!!!!!) but they cost less money and require less shipping tape, so forget protecting my fragile cigars that i purchased, LET'S SAVE MONEY!! The new computer system purged my spending history so now instead of Customer Service knowing i've spent abt $70 grand on the site, that number is no longer accessible. Trust me i could go on but at risk of upsetting the fragile sheep among us, i'll do them a favor and stop.

Use to be able to get good deals on some nice cigars here but that went out the window many years ago. I don't smoke as much as I used and therefore don't buy as much as I used to.

Other than dealing with you A-holes, I don't visit the site for the auctions much anymore. Periodically I'll do a seasonal stock up... maybe a couple boxes worth of various 5ers of some "out for a walk" smokes. Regular staples that I still smoke and have on hand for give aways to friends/acquaintances who are "cigar smokers."

As MACS said... the days of getting deals on Padron, VSG, Oliva, Bucanero (I loved those things... RIP Bucanero), old school Perdomo2, old school CAO, old school Drew Estate like some of the the LVH lines... all gone but not forgotten.

Don't get me wrong, there are still some decent ones to be had (in my opinion) if you're just looking for a good but not great cigar for reasonable prices. Much less than I'd be able to get here in MA or even if I hopped the border to NH. A simple Padron X000 would run me about $15 for a single in MA, but the closest shop is probably a 90 min drive away. In NH, maybe about $8 but, again probably about a 45 min drive.

No cigar shops within an hour drive yet we have 2 Vape/bong shops within a 5 minute walk and a pot shop within a 15 min walk from my place... And Oh, by the way, menthol cigs or any flavored tobacco cannot be sold in MA either...

It makes no sense to me... the world has gone crazy.

I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!
