Just bought some supposedly PDR Small Batch Maduro's.
They aren't.
Either Abe is trying to get even with the world, or he's making cigars
out of old newspapers now.
These are probably the worst cigars I have ever smoked.
Nothing like the original SBM's.
Nice box, but that is about it. It is no wonder they are so cheap.

Got to meet Abe at a smoker in 2013. He was a nice guy but that didn’t stop me from giving up on PDR around 2014. Mostly construction issues but other than maybe the Gran Reserva Corojo Half Corona, 1878 Capa Maduro lancero, and the AFR-75 Paka Ali’i lancero, the other blends that I smoked were just okay.

I smoke a lot of PDR's, including some of the small batch offerings. There has been a lot of inconsistency, however you said you just bought them. so I have to assume they need a rest.

I have a couple of boxes of Churchills dated 19 Aug 2019 And have purchased probably 10 5 packs of double coronas ( dates unknown) both from another site and both cigars are close to excellent ( 4 to 4,5 ). I received 2 boxes of the robustos dated 12 Aug 2019. They are nothing close to the other 2. I don't think even a rest will make them come close to the other 2

A rest can't hurt, tho I've had some PDR's that were good but lost their taste from what may have been too much aging. Whenever a cigar sucks ROTT a rest of at least 2 weeks have shown improvement.

Sounds like you got a batch of “internet” cigars, not “B&M” cigars.

Oskar you sound like a good egg, so I’ll let you in on a little secret us longtime forum members know. The owner of CBid is named Dave, and he like to take care of us when we occasionally have issues. Call (214) 914-3337 Monday-Friday 9-4 central time and ask for Dave, let him know that jaderose sent you.
