Has anyone had any experience with not being able to taste cigars after having COVID? I'm about a 2 wees out from having COVID, I never really got sick, but I did lose my taste and smell. Since then my taste and smell have come back, but cigars don't really have a taste. It's more of a generic tobacco taste, has anyone else had this and does it go away? I've tried a number of different cigars, of different blends/wrappers/etc. and they all just taste like pure tobacco, not a pleasant taste. I'm wondering if this is normal and if others have had this. Thanks in advance.

I haven't had covid, but I have had two other viral infections that took away my sense of smell. Couldn't taste cigars at all. It only lasted about a week with me. But again, that's non-Covid.

my son tested positive yesterday, after smoking a cigar and noticing a lack of flavor and aroma...odd since he was still tasting food and drink...

Had Covid in June of 2020. Completely lost smell and taste for about 2 weeks. Those senses have returned slowly but not completely. There are still things I know I cannot smell - especially very sweet or very bitter things. I stopped smoking for almost 4 months during that time. My first cigar after Covid tasted so very bitter and metallic - almost like I was smoking the cello wrapper. It took some time for me to return to the enjoyment of cigars.

I still get a harsh metallic taste sometimes from food. Mustard has a definite bitter taste as does soda or beer from a can - not sure if I am tasting the BpH from the can or something else.

Definitely strange and a side effect from Covid.

Citrus and banana still taste like fried onions for me 11 months later.
Still not even a hint of ability to smell natural gas from the range.
I can smell propane and gasoline so it's weird that it's so specific
Carrion smell finally returned but faintly.

It was about 2 weeks where I couldn't smell or taste ANYTHING.
I. couldn't tell Salt from sugar except for the reaction of my saliva glands.

Most everything else has returned to normal so I'm hopeful full recovery will eventually come but maybe this is linked to active antibodies?

That's the important one. Gotta know when to haul the bodies out of the basement
