Hello Ram! ram27bat I hope all is well! I think about you all the time!

DED August is a blur! My time was split between Illinois and Wisconsin that month between a get away with my boys and moving my teen into his University. If memory serves, it was pretty toasty in both states.

Dog walked and fed. Turned his nose up at the kibble with no sardines in it. Suit yourself ya picky little bastige... you'll get hungry enough to eat it in a bit. Ain't getting anything else.

Listening to the Rittenhouse closing arguments...

This may the very first time I have ever heard a prosecutor advocating for hollow point rounds and demonizing FMJ.

There's a meme going around with the prosecutor holding a rifle in the courtroom... with his finger on the franking trigger.

Yeah, um... maybe familiarize yourslf with the fundamentals of marksmanship before going to trial?

Just a thought.

The lawyers and the judge have been a clown show. Innocent or guilty Kyle Rittenhouse deserves far better. Though I think if he is convicted on any charge the are very strong grounds for appeal.

if he is found not guilty, which is likely, then it means that we will be moving closer to a nation where armed folks can provoke a confrontation where emotions are high (youth soccer/baseball match), shoot and kill legally...open carry becomes a necessity...

This is a common complaint by the left and it never seems to materialize in places where the 2nd amendment is embraced.

And did Rittenhouse provoke a confrontation? Or was he just standing there with a gun and was confronted, retreated, was chased, attacked, and then fought back... which seems to be the story told in court.

It’s dangerous either way.
You make the point on one side.
On the other side, if people attack a person and they can’t use self defense. It emboldens aggressive behavior.

Victim can mean a lot of things.

There was a scarier scenario yet.

Recently In Chicago, one person was killed and two others wounded in a shoot out.

No charges were filed because the incident was called “mutual combat”. Like in the NFL when two players get into a fight, it’s called offsetting penalties and everyone moves on with their days.

No consequences for Mutual Combat? THAT should lower the shootings In Chicago. d'oh!

WI warmly embraces the 2nd Amendment having passed a state resolution to be a 2nd Amendment sanctuary recently...this happened there

Rittenhouse travelled across state lines to put himself in danger, arming himself with a visible long gun and positioning himself at a place where protests were happening...his background as a police cadet in his home county, in Illinois, says he's a wannabe cop...he saw himself as a law enforcement officer and also said he was there to provide EMT services...he did not have EMT training and provided no medical aid to the persons he shot...he had no authority to carry the weapon nor to use it in defense of property, which he stated was his purpose for being there...the owners of the car lot said they didn't give him, or anyone else, permission to guard their lot

the Kenosha Sheriff said he specifically denied deputizing citizens when things were going sideways because he anticipated something like this happening

True, but across state lines was a whopping half hour trip to a town his dad and dad's side of the family lived in, so can see where he'd feel some belonging to that community.

No EMT training, but more first aid training than the average bear, and was reported to have administered said first aid prior to all the chit going down.

Sherriff didn't deputize but there were police vehicles thanking armed individuals over loudspeaker for helping to protect against property destruction.

The weapon wasn't discharged in defense of property. It was discharged in defense of perceived harm to his person, after a significant effort at escaping the situation, which appears to be supported by video and pictures.

Was he an idiot for being there in the first place? IMO Yes. Were hundreds of other people idiots for being there in the first place? IMO yes. Is the world being overrun with idiots? IMO yes. Am I one of the idiots? IMO no, but I've been mistaken every now and then on various subjects

And I do agree, The looters did provoke the confrontation with Ritt and that should not happen.

Well said Brother,it's quite evident you have seen the evidence and came to the same conclusion any person in their right mind would.Any detours down obvious fictitious avenues is only an exercise in futility..........but as we know libs are glutton for self imposed punishment, perpetual victims if you will, and the prosecutor in this case appears to be an expert

One thing that amazes me is everyone says Rittenhouse should not have been there... what about the rioters and the looters? Should THEY have been there?

When law enforcement is handcuffed by the politicians, who the hell is going to do something about the rioting, looting and destruction? Are we supposed to let it go and file insurance claims while the rioters and looters get away with rioting and looting?

Nah, man... nah.

I covered that one. Nobody should have been.

The biggest failing was in the local government here and in similar instances across the country, having law enforcement stand down while laws were broken. This is not a right vs left matter. It's a legal matter. If existing statutes were enforced, nothing would have burned, nobody would have felt the need to stand guard, and a 17yr old kid wouldn't have found himself in a situation he shouldn't have had to be in.

That was for the post before the post... maybe Danm finally got some fuggin sleep?

The trash company never came today to switch my full dumpster for an empty one... didn't let that deter me, much. Still gathered a bunch of stuff we ain't used, or lets be honest... looked at, in years and stacked it in the garage. As soon as they switch it out... I'm gonna be filling the new one.

So today, my daughter folks traded in their 2017 Honda van for a new Honda Pilot. Last week when she mentioned the possibility, my wife and I tried to discourage her but seems like she (…or her husband…) wanted to do it.

They’re adults, so their choice, their money.
