Shook me a bit. Loved to see the faith he has and there spooky parallels between he and Mark Twain.

Poignant might be the word.
Brief moments of fun in an otherwise hopeless place.
Doesn’t do a lot for small town, Texas tourism.

That was filmed in Archer City and Wichita Falls.................bought 80 miles east of me,my daughter,SIL and the granddaughter live in WF's,never figured how they made that area look so much like Midland/Odessa.Every state has a schithole.............Midland/Odessa is ours.

The Doughnut King on Hulu

An interesting story of Cambodian refugee Ted Ngoy who built a multi-million dollar empire of doughnut shops and helped hundreds of other refugees get to this country and become successful. It also covers Ted's human frailty, gamboling.

Quote:
Ted's story is one of fate, love, survival, hard knocks, and redemption. It's the rags to riches story of a refugee escaping Cambodia, arriving in America in 1975 and building an unlikely multi-million-dollar empire baking America's favorite pastry, the donut. Ted sponsored hundreds of visas for incoming refugees and helped them get on their feet teaching them the ways of the donut business.

Silence Patton: First Victim of the Cold War.

Wild stat.
-Germans who surrendered to the Americans, 98% survived their captivity.
-German survival when taken prisoner by the Russians- 25%.

In 1945, the Germans should have heeded Horace Greeley's advice.

About 6 episodes into NCIS...I just can't. I'd rather watch the A-Team or MacGyver...I have no idea how a show like that is still on and has that many spin-offs...I can't imagine any of them being any better.

Started a show on Netflix...Unbelievable.

The Gentlemen on Showtime.

Guy Ritchie film. Liberally sampled from Get Shorty and several Tarrantino movies, but an excellent watch.

Saw that. I'll be watching weekly. I enjoyed the books up until the 11th 600 page book and the story wasn't even close to ending. Robert Jordan died and somebody else finished the series, I think.

Was talking with someone who claimed the writing improved after Jordan's death. Can't confirm nor deny. Haven't tried them yet myself

The Flight Attendant on HBO Max. Trippy concept. Lead actress is the prettier one from the Big Bang Theory. Lack of nudity taking away from the experience.

Paradise Lost. Spectrum original. Mississippi high school hero returns to poverty, corruption and likely incest. Not doing ‘Sip Tourism any favors. One season, in episode 6 of 10. Worth completing but not riveting.

The wife and I are currently watching a few shows:

1. Yellowstone with Kevin Costner (On Peacock);

2. Narcos Mexico (On Netflix);

3. Vera (BBC show on Amazon with a BritBox subscription);

The shows I like to watch but my wife doesn't:

1. Doctor Who (On Amazon);

2. Star Trek: Discovery (On Paramount+);

3. Star Trek: Prodigy (On Paramount+. And YES, I KNOW it's a kids show, but I still enjoy it!)

My old Navy buddy Travis lives in Montana. He grew up there. Dude had a Canadian Lynx for a house pet.

I'd already BE in Montana if it wasn't a frozen wasteland half the year... and it had an ocean nearby I could fish. Anxious

Updated opinion on The Flight Attendant.

It was certainly worth with the watch.

With the background Mr, jONEs has, he may particularly like it.
