-Businesses with the most lucrative dumpsters?
-Best times of day?
-Turning trash to cash. Pawn shops? eBay? Rummage sales?

Let’s hear it.

Aldi's food store dumpsters ( non compactor kinds)...all kinds of good foods still in packaging , in boxes and not dirty or bad, check dates

Is dumpster diving illegal? I’d think once in the dumpster, fair game. Trespassing on business property making it illegal?

No diving on covered dumpster during daytime hours - get out quick if there is a loud engine noise or movement.

8 track...

I think when "push comes to shove" and you have a RELENTLESS **** ****HEAD PRESSING CHARGES WITH TIME DATE VIDEO....THEN YES IT IS ILLEGAL, ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE are visible signs on the dumpster...

A new "MISSION BARBEQUE" JUST WENT UP near me...
It had a dumpster that I hit every two weeks...
I made about $200 off that bastid...it was directly beside the professional job site trailer that was always occupy when I was diving in daylight hours...

On the dumpster was a small sign 12"x12"
And it said
"No Scavenging" plus smaller writing???
Which means no dumpster diving essentially...
But I would see the contractors and engineers all the time watching me outside diving...I guessing they had an on going bet as to when the old Fu*k was gonna fall down ...but I never did and they never scolded or yelled at me...

PAKI'S and India Indians are a different breed altogether...
They get all bent outta shape when you dumpster dive no matter what ( at least 80+++% of them, 20% are cool and don't care at all)...
Like I've said those two nationalities are A.L.L. OVER THE UNCHECKED SCRATCH OFF LOTTERY TICKET SCAM...
THEY DRY THEM IN THE STORE ROOMS WITH CLOTHES LINES AND CLOTHES PINS AND MAKE YOUNG FAMILY MEMBERS SCRATCH OFF THE BOTTOM CORNERS AND CHECK THEM FIR WINNERS...

I PITY YOUNG PAKI'S AND INDIANS...I HAD TO MOW THE yard, pull weeds, take out the trash, rake leaves...
These poor Fu*"ers gotta trash dive for wet lotto tickets, hang them up to dry, scratch off the corners , then check them on the lottery scanners...

That is beat ... especially for a young child...but foreigners are very quirky and oppressive in their hierarchy of deeds...

Diving is only illegal if there is a sign on the dumpster. No sign, no problem then?
What is with the lower corner of scratch off tickets?
Have only bought a ticket or two over the last decade.
What does the corner indicate?
Is that the part of the ticket that gets scanned?

I’m finding all of this oddly compelling reading.

Yes..on PENNSYLVANIA LOTTERY scratchers it is the lower right corner...a square box about the size of a nickel...
Inside that box it says "SCRATCH TO CASH"

IF IT IS SOLID, AND YOU READ THOSE WORDS it has not been laser scan checked...

Scratch off that box VERY WELL, IT HAS TO BE TOTALLY scratched off on the QR CODE BOX TO SCAN CORRECTLY...
SMUDGES, left over SCRAtCHED dust /dirt, or small areas where you missed a spot of material ON THE QRCODE BOX W.I.L.L. ALL CAUSE A "NOT A WINNER" READING, BUT IT COULD STILL BE A WINNER

OTHER STATES HAVE DIFFERENT SYSTEMS, MOST ALL STATES HAVE A "CHECK HERE TO WIN AREA"
IT may not be a box, it can be a rectangular UPC CODE ACTIN LINE TOO, BUT IT IS ALWAYS ON THE FRONT and has to be scratched off to read it...

I absolutely L.O.V.E. CONFIDENT PEOPLE!!!

THE ONES WHO THINK they know everything, the ones who think it's a loser so they just chuck it without scratching scanning that QR code box or rectangular UPC code bar...

All tickets must be TOTALLY DRY !!!
A MUST.

SCRATCHING WET tickets ruins them, coffee, soda, water all get into trash cans all the time...

Pick out wet tickets, put them under your windshield wipers and drive around...they dry quick in nice sunny weather in about 15-30 minutes...
In the winter, take home and lay on old newspaper overbite, dry by the next day.

Thanks bgz and smooth light...

I could write a book on it... I've been scratch off lotto ticket diving for 5++ years...
Each year double the $ from the yr before....
It can be lucrative or very very discouraging...it all depends on very confident people or very DUPIT peeps!!!

And believe me....I have seen it all ..
I know certain customers buy certain stops I make and I have nicknamed several of them...
On guy has Parkinson's and the cards are like a bird claw scratched them, his wife never checks what he chucks...
Then there's "the miionaire dudes" ....two of them...
$300-500 every freakin' day, and they never ever scratch that corner...they Fu*k up 2-4 times a month ( only on the ones I find) always $50-100 a month but lately somebody hits that can before I get there...****' bastids poachin' my territoryyy trespassin ' priiiiccckkksss.😤😤🤬🤬

P.L.U.S

I have to relay my experience from a guy from Atlanta Georgia...
He walked up to me and shook my hand...at a turkey hill convenience store....
Had at least $10 L.A.R.G.E. in 3 thick link gold chains around his neck...he was driving a $80K++ Mercedes-Benz...

And said...

"My best friend does this back in Atlanta brother!!!
And that boyeee make B.A.N.K....HE MAKE BANK boyyyeeeee and he drives a new Mercedes-Benz!!!

( Now when somebody's says.... he makes "BANK"...
MY lowest guesses are $50-100k.)

So, he told me A.L.L. HIS SECRETS in about 5 minutes...
Tell you what...
That info was invaluable...

Not even saying on here...trade secrets....
Put in 5++ yrs Diving and maybe I'll tell you for $25k....

It's going for .08 a pound on East coast...

They call it "light iron"....
Dont let them know it's rusted...just get on the scale, drive off to pile, dump it...get back on the scale and cash out...
If it is heavy melt? Let them know that first ..heavy melt is a different pile than "light iron"....

Now ...very thick steel...like car rotors, metal sewer pipes,
Angle iron, rebar, beams...etc....

That is called "heavy melt" and gets .11 cents a pound..

Now... whatever you do!!!

Always seperate your metals...

Unscrew and take apart stuff that has multiple metals...
You'll get way more money...

Aluminum .45 cent lb.
Brass $1.80
Copper various #'s $3.00-3.85
Wire low yield .90 lb
Medium yield $1.40
High yield $1.90
Stainless .45 lb.
Car battery .25-30 lb
Is your basic numbers ..

Was looking to learn what my rusted out firepit (about 40 lbs) would get me if brought it to a metals guy.
Is it worthless rusted?

40 x .08 = $3.20 cents on the small scale...
They are calibrated by 1 lb increments

If you use the big vehicle scale?
They are calibrated by 20 lb increments...

Soooo'
35 lbs is paid at only 20 lbs
45 lbs is paid at only 40 lbs

*****AND FOR GOD'S SAKES!!!!!

***DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR ON THAT FREAKIN SCALE AND GET OUT TO GO GET YOUR MONEY....DRIVE OFF THE SCALE AND PARK SOMEWHERE ELSE.....DO NOT HOG THE SCALE LIKE A MORON ...

I HATE SCALE HOGGERS THAT TRY TO GET PAID LEAVING VEHICLES ON THE SCALE FOR MINUTES ON END ...

IT IS RUDE AND ONLY **** DO THAT...

What can I get for a 10 year old sink and a used American Standard faucet?
Where do I get it?

Is the sink stainless steel?
Single or double?

A double is usually 10-15 lbs
Stainless is bringing .65 cents a lb

So $6.50 or $9.75

Take it to a metal recycling yard.

You gotta take the faucet apart to get the "most" money...
Remove all hoses, clip of the brass screw nuts with a bolt cutter. Remove bottom plastic plate.
Unscrew the handle with a small Allen wrench ( if one piece) or take off handles with a Phillip screw driver ..
Take it the plastic guys in the handle... usually the outer part is cast aluminum .55 lb...and the actual water touching parts are yellow brass $2.10 lb...
Prolly get $4.50-7.00 for the faucet ..

It is a double sink. Not stainless steel. Probably ceramic. It is the old school sink when sinks were just sinks.

If it is ceramic, do I still take it to the metal recycle place? Is ceramic recycling a thing?

Thank you, Jonsie.

Is ceramic considered recycling?
Ceramic items can be donated or tossed.

Ceramic items cannot be recycled at most facilities, though sometimes facilities that recycle bricks and concrete will recycle ceramics.Jun 24, 2018

I see cast iron sinks and tubs with ceramic / enamel coating at most junk yards....

Cast iron is considered "Heavy Melt"@ .12 lb and pays more than light iron @.08 lb...

Don't bust a nut lifting it .. don't drop it on your foot either...
Cast worthy for 8 weeks at least ...

They are heavy as heck...
