No, I'm not pissed off at anyone, I'm just an old fart looking for a great stick that burns slowly. For starters, I'll admit I probably smoke cigars faster than average. Even so, I'm tired of cigars-- even fairly large ones like the San Lotano Oval Double Corona Naturals I'm smoking now-- that last me only 30 minutes or so. The only cigar I've had recently that had a nice, slow burn rate was a Padron Maduro Churchill.

So, my B/SOTL, can you suggest a maduro that has great construction and burns slowly? Price-wise I am looking at up to about $12 a stick retail.

Thanks!

Thanks so much for the suggestions so far. I'm headed out to my local shop now to see if they have any of these.

Check out the Asylum 13 7x70 or 8x80. Should hold you for an hour or two. Seriously though, a 7.5x54 in half an hour? You need to take a breath or two between puffs, brother.

Rich, I call you Rich because that is your given name...

it's been nearly ten years, Rich.
TEN YEARS!

You didn't write.
You didn't call.

Your mother and I were worried sick...as though you care.

Honestly, we hope all your "sticks" burn fast.

I am sorry I have been out of touch but I am in the Federal Witness Protection program and I really shouldn't even be on here. And I kinda doubt my mother gives a **** because she passed in 2013. Sarcasm

But seriously, folks... I smoked another Padron Maduro Churchill tonight and got 56 minutes out of it, so I can confirm we have a winner here. I also picked up the Oliva V Melanio churchill but haven't torched it yet. And... bonus info here... I got 53 minutes out of an Aging Room Quattro Maestro Torpedo, "only" 6 x 52.

Thanks for all the great advice!

Damn, they must pay extra for you down at the truck stop glory hole...

Jokes aside, have you tried just slowing down on the puffs? I imagine your cigars are probably burning pretty hot at the pace you smoke them.

Could have stopped at this one. This one should get you at least an extra 15 minutes.

Tatuaje RCs can be tough to find, Conoju 2012 and MEII Churchill’s are great choices as well.

if you can find some, Litto Gomez Diez Small Batch cigars are hefty and slow burning...but a little more than your $12 tag...

the Tatuaje Havana VI Verocu #1, 6 x 52 is solid also, and about $10 each at the box price

worth trying is the La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor Reserva in three large vitolas: Divino (toro), 6.25 x 52; Romantico (corona gorda); 6.875 x 50; and Pomposo (gordo), 6.5 x 60 (too thick for me)

all of these are about 2 hour smokes for the average smoker, so they should get you to the hour mark...

BTW: try slowing down, lay the cigar in the ashtray between puffs and leave it for a minute or two to allow it to cool a bit...you may find that you'll taste a difference in the quality of flavors...

like the Pointer Sisters...cigars reward the slow hand

As the story goes Grocho once said: "I like my cigar too, but I take it out of my mouth occasionally".

Dude, you smoke waaaay too fast.
Tends to alter the cigar taste as well imo, heating it up too much.
That said....
Jaime Garcia Especial Toro or Churchill, or even the 6x60 if you are so inclined

Lot of good smokes mentioned here. A couple I haven’t tried myself that I’ll likely try to pick up myself
