Second Whistle's recommendation, add the Tat Black petite lanceros. Illusione HL are great (love the candela version) too. I'm a big fan of the Cain F, cheap and good. Holy grail for me are the Trinidad Fundadores, but current prices are silly. Partagas culebra aren't technically a lanceros, but are tasty as well. There even used to be a.... shudder...Gurkha lanceros, the microbatch TB something-or-other that was really good (think they were an early AJ Fernandez blend made for the mother ship). I'd also recommend trying out a blend in the lanceros just on general principle, sometimes you find that they are the best in the line up (the Serie V is a great example) and it's usually a vitola rolled by the manufacturers most experienced rollers to boot.

How long does a lancero typically take you guys to smoke? I mean, 6.5-7 inches takes a while, right?

Seems to depend on the specific lancero I guess. I’ve had good luck with the oliva seconds lance. Cheap not sure if it’s the Cain or v but as far as I know that’s the only two lanceros they roll.

I must be a slow smoker... a 5.5x52 would last me 1.5 hours.

Hour and a half to two if you’re slow, you do want to remember to sip not chug on a smaller rg. That’s usually why noobs and Wombat stick with Sixties.

I would add Illusione Fume D A’mour Junipero.

I might smoke a lancero tonight. I’ll keep note of time. I was guessing at my numbers. Somewhere in that area though I’d believe

Lanceros are definitely not for the suck’em downers. Plus, in my experience, you have to pay attention to it (…kinda like a girl on a first date…). I also believe lovers of lanceros appreciate the wrapper-to-filler ratio and the flavors they experience from the smaller RG.

On the brotherly site, February used to be Lancero Month but looks like that tradition isn’t being followed this year. Does seem rather counterproductive to smoke a 1-1/2 to 2 hour cigar in frigid conditions. Obviously for me, I can smoke a lancero anytime of the year…well, unless it dips down to under 65 degrees, then I’d have to wrap up, brave the cold temps and wish I had ordered that portable heater from Amazon…. d'oh!

El Triunfador lanceros were excellent a few years back...haven't tried a recent offering...

El Gueguense are excellent recent lanceros...

"El" = excellent lanceros

edit: can't go wrong with any lancero made by Illusione..."Il" = impeccable lancero

Taking a lanceros slow is a must as mentioned above. I am a very slow smoker so lanceros fit my smoking profile perfectly.

Done w that thing stogie. I’ll puff for a lil whole but yeah. Done. 6;30-8:15. With a bit left if I really really wanted it but I enjoyed for that long. If you’re asking smoke times because you’ve not partaken. Well give em a go

Thanks Jake! I have tried the Oliva V and Tat Black lanceros and liked them both. My smoking time is late at night and right now in AZ it's in the 40s at night, so I I try to smoke shorter sticks... My wife is going to start complaining about our propane tank refill budget since the patio heater is always needed in the winter...

Do a web search for "H-Town Nomad San Andres Lancero." You can order them from a local shop here in Houston. I had one of these the other day and it was damn good.

My favorite lancero right now hands down is Foundation The Tabernacle. This stick is AWESOME if u like full bodied stuff.

I dig the Cain f. If you’re into oliva v lances the boxes are on here pretty regular at prices that I can’t find elsewhere. I like both of those pretty well

Love the lancies...
I'll vote for Partagas 150. ;)

El Triumfadors were awesome, only one left - saving it for a special occasion (like next year, when i kick the last kid out of the nest).

Oneoff used to make a decent one as well. Haven't tried any of their modern era stuff.

Tat Black, Oliva V, JdN Antano, Cruzado...all good.
