No change here. A dock in Benecia caught fire and burned up so our prices may go higher. The dock is used by the Valero refinery and Toyota.

I traveled this week from LA to B'ham for a couple of days.

I saw prices ranging from $3.69 to $3.99 with the $3.69 being around B'ham. The $3.99 was along I-65 in a rural area.

$4.19 yesterday for regular at WAWA. Up about 15 cents over the last two weeks.

I get 4% back by using my Costco CITI Mastercard plus 2% more back from Costco whenever if I fill up there, but usually don't have the patience to wait 15-20 minutes- just to save a buck.

Thankfully, I only drive about 6-8k miles/year (except for all the college visits over the last month.

Central pa

I always got gas ~$.40/gallon cheaper in VA on my way to PA (due to the states gas taxes) but this weekend that changed. In about a 1 mile drive in NOVA the prices ranged from $4.39-$4.99/gallon and found it cheaper in PA. MD was doing the gas tax break for a short while but that ended, VAs new Governor is hoping to provide that break due to a $1bil surplus in the state transportation budget.

““It’s summertime. It’s when gas prices go up the most. Let’s get Virginians a break. Let’s get people to Virginia. Now’s the time to do it,” said Gov. Glenn Youngkin.

Youngkin says state lawmakers need to act on his 90-day gas tax holiday. That measure would suspend the 26-cent gas tax at the pump. It would be phased out in the fall and would cost the state about $470 million.

It’s been stalled for about a month now, while work on the state’s budget continues.

“But now is the time to give Virginians a break. Prices are running away from us. We have more money in the system than we thought. Over a billion dollars more in the commonwealth transportation budget. It’s Virginians’ money and it’s time for us to let them have it,” said Gov. Youngkin.

Meanwhile, state Democrats tried to offer Virginians relief at the pump and failed. Lawmakers proposed sending one-time payments of $50 to every car owner in Virginia and up to $100 per household. That would have cost the state about $135 million.”

I think this is great for the environment. Somewhere I can picture a scantily clad Greta longingly moaning in Al Gore’s ear.

If world leaders had any balls prices would not have risen and would have remained stable. In 2021 oil production was 88 mb/d. In 2022 to date oil production is 99 mb/d. You do the math.

Oh, also there are about 1.2 trillion barrels of oil reserves around the world that have already been extracted. Demand exceeds production supply by about 300,000 barrels a day.

The above numbers are rough estimates as every source varies a little. Again, you do the math.

Why are they that low with that much oil out there Z? Not enough refining capacity? Why? Government interference you say? Why? There are way to many why's Z. I see a bad combination of greed and governmental manipulation to reach a goal.

The market does not respond to only the current supply and capacity to deliver as it would in a stable economy. Current bone-headed gubment policies causes "Regime Uncertainty" that anticipates the negative impact of those policies in the future. That could be things like wars, prospects of future wars, massive money printing, taxes and regulations that negatively impact investments in production to meet consumer demands.

^ All true. I do not mind the free market determining when and how to use alternative power sources. I find it conspiratorial when multiple forces make those decisions and not the free market.

This is happening on a global scale. The puppet masters have pulled more strings than I can count. The major counties governments in the world are incapable of this off. Nor would they have the patience to do this.

Perhaps I am just crazy.

If I am seeing this clearly, an emphasis on if, I really do not want to know who the puppet masters are. This is not about green energy, fuel prices or any such else. It is about worldwide chaos to achieve an unknown goal on a worldwide level.

There are no substantive alternate power sources. We're stuck with Coal, LNG and Nuclear. All the others are propped up by government subsidies and cannot deliver what is needed on any responsible manner. Our nation was energy independent and then President Magoo got in and ran roughshod with his green disciples of stupidity.

The DNC is a terrorist organization.
