Looking to get our son a cordless blower to use when he dries off his car after he washes it. I've never used one but he said using a blower is better for the car's finish. Anyway, I've looked at a few models but thought I'd check with youse guys to see if anyone has some experience / recommendations with them.

So far I've looked at Worx, Makita, EGO, Milwaukee and DeWalt. Our daughter is gonna chip in so our budget is somewhere around $250-$300.

TIA.

Hop on an interstate or a road where you can drive at about 50ish MPH or more for a few minutes.

I have an electric leaf blower... it's a Toro. Doubles as a vacuum after I get them piled in one corner.

It's good for getting the water out of the cracks and crevices, to be sure... but better for the finish? Nah... just use the proper drying towels. Microfiber, chamois, or the like.

Lots of very good info on that site. Plus they sell really good detailing products. When I had my G37 I did all my own detailing. Got a lot of good stuff from them.

Will check on Toro. I’m not 100% sure if he wants the blower for the whole car or just for the nooks and crannies so I should qualify what he intends to do with it.

Any one should do just fine, but MACs has it 100% right. Proper towels first, then blower for the nooks.

I used to buy my towels from a guy in Hawaii...

Husqvarna 350B Backpack Blower - 180mph windspeed and airflow in pipe is 494cfm.

No, it's not exactly what you meant, and yes it's a touch above stated budget, but it is cordless and 180mph sounds like fun.

BTW I agree with previously stated opinions on towels for finish, both for older paints and the modern stuff

I had a good experience with Husqvarna. My last gas weedwacker was a Husqvarna but hadda buy their oil and not the generic stuff to mix with the gas. Was really reliable though.

Palama, I have a bunch of the Ryobi 18v stuff, so I have their blower. It's fine for leaves and such (and would leave a nice **** of cash available for other detailing products), but I would look for something with a pretty narrow fijnal opening so he can really aim the airflow into the crevices. Otherwise, he may just end up spraying the water that comes out of the cracks all over the place and making his life harder. Bigger may not be better.

Any car blower would be great.
Regardless of whether she’s got a tampon in or not…
