Audit Shows Nearly Half of Biden's Twitter Followers Are Bots

A tool created by the software company SparkToro that distinguishes real accounts from fake accounts known as “spambots,” or “bots,” found that almost half of President Joe Biden's 22.2 million Twitter followers were not real, Newsweek reported on Tuesday.

The audit conducted by SparkToro’s tool found that 49.3% of those following the official @POTUS Twitter account are bots based on an analysis of location issues, default profile images, date of creation, and more.

The company's tool also found that Biden's account has more fake followers than most.

Tugger, I do find this story on multiple legitimate news sources, but cannot find anywhere that SparkToro stated this. Could you put up a link that show where SparkTork actually said this? Thanks. As Elon Musk is trying to buy Twitter and stating that over 19% of Twitter accounts are fake/bots I question the truth of this story. Clearly it seems Musk is trying to decrease his price of acquisition. My concern is this might be related as I only find according to SparkToro. It does make sense that SparkToro could have such a tool, simply based on them being an intelligent data acquisition company for corporate marketing. Also, could you find a link to SparkToro even speaking about this tool? Thanks, I have not been able to find one. Keep up the good work!

Edit. My concern is this might be related as SparkToro is showing nothing on this that I can find, and I am not finding sources relative to how this information came from SparkToro.

I picked up this article on my news feed from NEWS MAX.
I also searched on DAILEY WIRE,NY POST,REPUBLICWORLD,TOWN HALL,NEWSWEEK,BGR, and MEAWW. I came up with the same info,must be fake news.... if I find out anything else I'll post it.

Thanks Z, Tugger, I am in no way saying fake news. I just want to do a deeper dig. There are far to many news outlets reporting this for it not to have a basis of truth. When Elon Musk has something in play you need to look deeper. His 19.4 % fake accounts on Twitter statement makes me very curious. He plays the game within the game within the game at a level beyond my comprehension. For example SpaceNet or whatever he calls it provides internet to Ukranians that is beyond Russia's technological ability to block. They literally would have to go house by house. Pretty cool that an uber powerful advocate for freedom of speech already had this in place. I wondered what the value of a satellite network that could only provide dial up speed was. Now I can see that.

Spey, I also do not it was fake news,that was just a snide comment on my part.
