Infections are increasing, government stance!!! So what, hospitalizations are decreasing!!! My opinion. China is locking down in a big way, government statement. So what, we have medication that works, my opinion. Someone in the store today while we were shopping, put on a mask!!! My response, read the CDC guidelines, you are a greater risk because you are wearing a mask that spreads areosol farther than I do not wearing a mask.

What say you?

Oh No! The return of the state religion of the Maskholes!

Covid is not alone! Monkey Pox spreading! Bird Flu!, Child Hepatitis!
Get ready for rolling lockdowns!, rolling public health mandates!, rolling surveillance!
Better wear your mask!, Social Distance! Shelter in Place! More Jabs are in order!

If the CDC says the number are on the rise and we should wear masks responsible people will and irresponsible people won’t. Just like last time.

Could be another round of social Darwinism - stupid is as stupid does…..

I heard the CDC has "been wrong about the models. They’ve been wrong about the lockdowns. They’ve been wrong about the distance the particles travel in the air. They’ve been wrong about the transmission of the virus from asymptomatic individuals. They’ve been wrong about the spread of the virus on surfaces. They’ve been wrong about the infection fatality rate. They’ve been wrong about the dangers of the virus to children and young adults. They’ve been wrong about the use of face masks. They’ve been wrong in their abilities to protect individuals in long-term care facilities. They’ve been wrong in the way they’ve counted COVID-19 deaths. They’ve been wrong in how they’ve classified COVID-19 cases."

But Brew, you reject such heresies, and have seen the light....you still believe in the all-knowing and all-powerful state! Put your face diaper on and sing Hallelujah!

My county has been “strongly recommending” masks indoors for a few weeks now.

Choosing a Mask or Respirator for Different Situations
Masks and respirators (i.e., specialized filtering masks such as “N95s”) can provide different levels of protection depending on the type of mask and how they are used. Loosely woven cloth products provide the least protection, layered finely woven products offer more protection, well-fitting disposable surgical masks and KN95s offer even more protection, and well-fitting NIOSH-approved respirators (including N95s) offer the highest level of protection.

Whatever product you choose, it should provide a good fit (i.e., fitting closely on the face without any gaps along the edges or around the nose) and be comfortable enough when worn properly (covering your nose and mouth) so that you can keep it on when you need to. Learn how to improve how well your mask protects you by visiting CDC’s Improve How Your Mask Protects You page.

A respirator has better filtration, and if worn properly the whole time it is in use, can provide a higher level of protection than a cloth or procedural mask. A mask or respirator will be less effective if it fits poorly or if you wear it improperly or take it off frequently. Individuals may consider the situation and other factors when choosing a mask or respirator that offers greater protection.

My bad, I had not checked in some time.

For the week ending May 20, 2022, cases and hospitalizations continued to rise as the United States marked one million deaths from COVID-19. While about 54% of the U.S. population is experiencing low COVID-19 Community Levels, many areas have moved into medium and high levels. COVID-19 Community Levels can help communities and individuals make decisions based on their local context and their unique needs.

in the Greater Boston area hospitalizations are up but Covid ICU admissions are waaaay down

The waste water testing seems to have been the most reliable prognosticator throughout all of the political noise and nonsense.

Today's news feed from the Boston Globe said that ICU is at a pandemic low level.
The uptick in the spring fever covid rampage has been mostly limited to being simply being sick, not clogging the hospital hallways.

I'm paraphrasing. But you get the gist.

You got scammed.

Rhetorical, of course... I really don't care.
