I was at an eye doctor appointment... need glasses. Got da progressive lenses. Expensive as sheit, but I got 2 pairs with all the bells and whistles. Fuggit.

One pair is also transition, so they darken outside. Other pair I opted outa that.

Careful with cleaning the transition ones. I rubbed the coating off of mine ones I used for work a few years ago.

I got glasses when I was 12. Playing little league and I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Got glasses and my ability to play baseball improved exponentially! It was a miracle!

Wore them until 1998 when I got laser surgery. Vision was awesome until 45-ish... needed readers. Now I get headaches.

Doctor today said I get headaches because I am using my readers for the computer, which is further away. So progressives are in order. top for seeing distance, middle for cpu and bottom for reading. Distance vision is still relatively pretty good. Mid and close range sucks.

Yup, I used to use Dawn to clean my glasses but the opt tech recommended using Dial hand soap since it was a lot gentler than Dawn.

I find the thread title and topic of most of the posts so far to be ironic... No, wait, coincidental.

Anyone know of an app to identify satellites overhead? Every night around 9:30 pm I see one fly over south to north and would love to find out what it is.

When I lived in the sticks away from light pollution I used to be able to see the space station creep across the sky on a clear night in my backyard. Was just a bright dot in the sky that would slowly drift by in relation to the stars. I'd pick a terrestrial point like the top of a tree as a point of reference and watch it slowly move along. Sometimes see shooting stars.

No psychedelics involved. Just me, the dog, a chair, and a cigar staring at the sky on a nice clear summer night.

Would also watch planes up there in a holding pattern on their way into Boston.

a friend of mine has one, you just aim your phone camera at the sky and it labels everything
in the picture. I'm not sure what it's called, but I'll try to find out. It could take awhile, because
I can't remember who it was that had it.Brick wall Brick wall

If you were not doing anything wrong you wouldn’t need to know why I have a satellite flying over you.

Thanks, I think I looked at that one. It's great for stars, planets, constellation, but sadly no realtime satellites... Guess they don't want me trying to shoot one down.

can't remember his name at this moment but we had a cbidder who was a military contractor on a tiny island and often spoke of his job watching blinky lights and listening to beepy things...something like that.

pretty sure he was in attendance in Dallas area herfs...think with Wheel, Brew, Drafter, maybe Coolbreeze, Mikey etc.

He posted a link to all of the space junk sent up by man. Pretty mind blowing...
One of you Texans oughta recall his name.
