I’m seriously considering it. If I had a local buddy show me I’d be all over it. Rupe explained it pretty good over on that brotherly place recently. It makes sense.

I took option 3 for the sheer paradox of it.

I'd never do kitty litter due to the amount of it I've sifted throughout the years. No bearing on how well it works or not, but that's my take.

Museum humidity stabilization beads = $5/oz
Humidor beads = $1/oz
Kitty litter = $0.10/oz

All the same silica, just different printing on the package.

kitty litter is too dusty and and lacks standardized granule size...being somewhat klutzy and accident prone doesn't bode well...

besides I had 3 cats over the years and the "fragrance free" stuff still emitted a fragrance...

Kitty litter works for me...but only the fragrance free Exsquisicat Crystals.

Works just like beads for a fraction of the price...been using the same kitty litter in my coolers

for over 6 yearsBeer

I've used expensive beads, cheap beads and kitty litter...........all the same IMUO.The last few years I've been using water absorbing crystals with much better results than any of the beads. I run my humidity at 58-62% which may be lower than some are comfortable with but it works for me and has the last 10 years or so.YMMV
