Read through again carefully. Take your time. I know wurds is hahd. The OK City Federal Building bomb was not a Molotov cocktail, and I don't believe McVeigh was considered left leaning.

Who's talking about that Federal Building? I'm talking about the Summer of Love when the ANTIFAites tried to burn down the Federal Courthouse in Portland and along with BLM'ers were throwing around Molotov cocktails through shop windows and burning down cities.

McVeigh was a neo-Nazi and his attack was inspired by the Turner Diaries, a 1978 tract that advocated the use of terrorism to overthrow the US and establish a government explicitly based on Nazi Germany. Nazis are authoritarian leftist nationalists. How many times do I have to tell ya? Remember the Reichstag fire. Lefties love burning stuff down..or blow stuff up if they get a chance.

Fire bombing doesn’t exist in California law.

The term “explosive or incendiary device” means (A) dynamite and all other forms of high explosives, (B) any explosive bomb, grenade, missile, or similar device, and (C) any incendiary bomb or grenade, fire bomb, or similar device, including any device which (i) consists of or includes a breakable container including a flammable liquid or compound, and a wick composed of any material which, when ignited, is capable of igniting such flammable liquid or compound, and (ii) can be carried or thrown by one individual acting alone.

Cornell law.

Incendiary device means any firebomb, and any device designed or specially adapted to cause physical harm to persons or property by means of fire, and consisting of an incendiary substance or agency and a means to ignite it.

Incendiary bombs are of two main types. The burning material of the intensive type is thermite, a mixture of aluminum powder and iron oxide that burns at a very high temperature. The casing of such a bomb is composed of magnesium, a metal that itself burns at a high temperature when ignited by thermite. Intensive-type incendiaries are designed to set buildings afire by their intense heat. The other type of incendiary bomb is a thin-walled container of napalm, or jellied gasoline, that is used against personnel, vehicles, and flammable installations. The napalm spreads over a wide area, sticks to whatever it falls upon, and burns for a long time. Modern mixtures of napalm consist of gasoline, benzene, and a polystyrene thickener.

Also let's be clear what we are arguing about. Criminals tried to burn a federal building, call it fire bombing if you want, I do not think it was fire bombing, realistically so what? Bottom line I wish the criminals were prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Bundy and his folks had, are, and will steal from the federal government. The federal government played fast and loose with evidence. Hence the overturned convictions with prejudice and so far all attempts at retrial have been dismissed. So on those charges the Bundy group are innocent.

A man died, you choose to call it a cover up. I believe it was a justified shooting. In either event it was tragic.

Bundy and his group are committing, have committed, and will continue to commit Grand Larceny. You think the government is taking away their rights, I think they are criminals.

That I believe is what are our disagreement is about. If you stop pontificating so will I. If you can discuss this civilly without being a d ick so can I.

Your choice.

Nice deflection, now back your bluster up. Prove me wrong if you can. You have yet to do that. Do you want me to cite specific cases for you? No, no you don't. You want your lie to become your truth, or has it already?

I’ll be honest, when you started rambling about thermite and napalm I wasn’t even sure what point you are making that you want people to prove wrong!

I thought this thread was about a bunch of guys in a truck getting arrested.

The cops found paperwork laying out their entire plan. That coupled with their odd behavior, attire, cramming into a truck to reach their target, etc., etc. = a probable plan to do something illegal = conspiracy charges, IMO.

(And that's supposed to be a nice place according to JOJOC, who lives there.)

Robert, how are you?

It's nice to know that I am not completely forgotten, despite my absence.

Here is my take on this. Both the stop and charges were valid. Not to mention that they were pulled over literally a few hundred yards from their destination. A few minutes later and this news story would have been very different. My understanding is that in addition to the riot shields, they had protective hard plastic inserts in their hats and long heavy-duty metal flag poles (offensive weapon), smoke grenades ....

As to the thoughts of selective focus by the police, I don't think it was. The same day there were a couple other unrelated arrests of individuals associated with ANTIFA. This community enjoys its peace and quiet and has very little tolerance for anything that is disruptive of that quiet enjoyment. During the Black Lives Matters riots in Spokane, there were rumors of the protestors making their way to Coeur d'Alene. The result was a very large presence of heavily armed individuals that roamed the streets for about a week until the Spokane protests petered out. A good number of them likely have similar political/racial views as the group that was just arrested. The concept of "not in my town" seemed to override the racial/political issues. There were some peaceful BLM marches, and the armed groups either ignored them, or engaged with them in a civil manner.

Quote:
An apparent leader of the group had a seven-page document outlining an operational plan in extensive detail, the chief said.

After pulling up a digital image of the document, Chief White read brief selections to The New York Times that detailed how smoke was to be used: “a column forming on the outside of the park, proceeding inward, until barriers to approach are met” and “once an appropriate amount of confrontational dynamic has been established the column will disengage and head to Sherman.”

Sherman Avenue runs through the center of downtown Coeur d’Alene.

But did they find the document before, or as a result of, the stop and detention?...

Good question. It goes to both the legitimacy of the arrests and admissability of the evidence.

IDK, but even if it was after the stop, I believe they still had the right to seize anything in "open view" or "plain view."

31 guys we’re gonna walk in a straight line into the park?

Go ahead and drop the charges and let the FBI guys go back undercover.

Incomplete analysis.
There is no single conclusive fact.
Arrests were based on the "totality of the circumstances."

I hate nationalists of any kind. They are all wannabe dicktators in disguise. Show me a Leftist, a Straussian or a Neocon and I'll show you a despicable nationalist.

Jefferson Davis and Robert E Lee weren't nationalists, they were against the radical Repulican nationalist dicktators of D.C and simply wanted to right the federal republic to the vision of the founders, which was to restore federalism.

Trump has some nationalist tendencies which I always found disturbing. It's a disease that unfortunately permeates a good part of the Republican Party in one way or another.

Modern-day Democrats are nationalists thru and thru. There is nothing they don't want to nationalize. Their authoritarian nationalism stinks to high heaven.
