The kids need to be educated. Some social programs are necessary, education is one of them.
However, they don't need to be learning about religion in school (to be fair, I don't think they need to be learning about the latest fads in human hardware modifications either).
So yer saying people are too stupid to know how to educate them yoots without the government and their vast treasury of stolen loot? But you don't like yoots being groomed about the lastest fads in human hardware modifications by the gubment? Well...who are you to say that when you believe at the same time that gubment knows best?
Do you know how the children learned reading, writing and arithmetic before gubment schools? Yes, there was such a time, you know in those dark ages you envision.
I harken back to those dark times, this time from Frederic Bastiat in his masterpiece "The Law"
"Socialism, like the ancient ideas from which it springs, confuses the distinction between government and society. As a result of this, every time we object to a thing being done by government, the socialists conclude that we object to its being done at all. We disapprove of state education. Then the socialists say that we are opposed to any education. We object to a state religion. Then the socialists say that we want no religion at all. We object to a state-enforced equality. Then they say that we are against equality. And so on, and so on. It is as if the socialists were to accuse us of not wanting persons to eat because we do not want the state to raise grain.”
