70 at 5:00.
Time to hustle the dog out for a shuffle.
Need to get caught up on around the homestead tasks.

Why is it that when the heat is strong, drinking more water is a given, and salt is expelled, but having saltwater is bad?

Damn! I slept in until almost 4:30 this morning. Gotta get out there soon as the coffee does it's thing.
Your high is our low today. Kinda muggy 88/101 today as a little front came in last night with wind but no rain. This is the kind of weather that produces violent afternoon haboobs with a wall of dust sometimes fallowed by a little rain.

Does this make me an honorary Arizonan?

Ain't nothing honorary about it, but yeah.

Early 1990s we hit 122 but it only felt like 121. I went out and ran a 5 miler cuz I'm stoooped.

Wooo whoo! And I was told I'd never accomplish anything in Life.

As far as doing stooopid things, although you've got me by a few years, I've got the lead on you in stooopid.

Take THAT!

Fishing was great yesterday. Drove southwest of San Diego into Mexico waters, found some diving Terns and followed them around. Bluefin tuna every-damn-where. We got 2 of the dumb ones to bite. BigGrin

Both Art and I landed a personal best sized fish.

I'm not like, uh, sienz guy, but iirc the body can only create urine with lower salinity than saltwater. So for the kidneys to be able to process that amount of salt, you'd actually have to waste a higher volume of urine than you're consuming of saltwater

Damn MACS, those are serious fish! Do you freeze them or give away meat or eat the whole thing raw before the boat gets back to harbor?

We brain spike them and bleed them out right away... like as soon as they hit the deck. Then we put them on ice. Buddy has a fish kill-bag that would fit probably 6 of those. We had 120 lbs of ice in it.

Got home, sliced it open, pulled out the gills and guts. Cleaned out the innards, then wife chopped it up into steaks.

Damn, that looks and sounds tasty! Well, not the brain spike part...

I just didn't have a sense of how much meat you get from a fish that size.

What do YOU know about water?!

Going to have to find someone who works with water, water treatment… and stuff.
