Storia de Familia

But what do I know?

Chianti Classico has by far the best vineyards in Chianti. 2019 is a very good vintage. The bottle you had is 100% Sangiovese I think.

I really like it, and it easily fit in to my wine budget.

Excellent, you might enjoy a wine from Morellino di Scansano which is the most recent Sangeovese DOCG. Also a Rosso di Montalchino would interest you.

2015, Clarendelle Merlot, right bank Bordeaux, France.

About $20, made by Clarence Dillon's nephew, at Haute Brion. Clarence Dillon own Haute Brion. Try it some time if you see it. This is what Merlot is supposed to taste like.

2017 Schmidt Family Chardonnay last night with taco soup and cornbread, daughter has the flu. Great Chardonnay as I am not a big fan and I enjoyed this one, great balance. Don’t mind some oak or butter, this one didn’t smack of any one thing.

Just grabbed a case of 2021 Kirkland Sauvignon Blanc from Costco. Made in Marlborough, New Zealand which is well known for their Sauvignon Blancs it's a great refreshing summer sipper. Crisp notes of lemon, peach and lime and a great bargain @ $7.

Anyone found any wine that pairs well with ANY cigar? The two just dont seem to mix for me no matter what I try. Strange because cognac is made from wine and its great with almost any cigar.

Gewurztraminer ?

Actually I rarely pair cigars and wine but a big zin or a late harvest both work for me.
