Has anyone else won an auction and had their credit card charged and told the cigars are back ordered recently?

Yeah CelticBomber contacted me and let me know. He usually takes care of that part of the customer service. He let me know that they will throw in an extra fiver for the inconvenience.

Never had that happen to me but you could dispute the charge with your CC provider if the cigars aren’t shipped within a reasonable amount of time.

What’s a “reasonable amount of time”? Hmm, maybe a couple of weeks? Think

The last time I had a backorder it was about 2-3 weeks after that I was thinking about calling. I went to my order history and saw a delivery was already scheduled.

Run to the local place and get some. Even if they showed up tomorrow you wouldn't want to smoke em in a week.

Letting him off the hook?
I DONT THINK SO!
Jef…….you have been here 11+years!!
And NOW you saunter in here, looking for advice on how to get cigars for a golf outing………because you failed to plan……..and ASSUMED Cbid would deliver your order in time for your links date?
You didn’t have a stash on hand for golf?
And on top of that…………………...oh never mind……….it’s just a losing battle…

Come on man… of course I have cigars to smoke. These were for the foursome.
I just think it’s bad business to auction something that you don’t have and then take money in advance for it. They had the same 10 yesterday on a quickie auction so wtf. This poor **** who “won” will be on here crying along side me:) FYI. I have sent 3 emails to them with zero response.

Oh……………I see how you are!
Of course you have cigars to smoke……….but……..what?
The cigars aren’t good enough for your golf buddies?
Or……
The cigars are too good for your golf buddies?

Which is it?

As to bad business at cbid?
Where you been man? Chit went sideways here a looooooooong time ago.

But you are in luck, because I’m in a good mood this morning, and will let you in on a secret.
(Pssst………..there are two other places to buy cigars online that are generally better than cbid)
You know who they are……….just shop there.

King,
These guys smoke little cigars like Kojak. I bought 7x70 bats so they can feel the flavor. I have bought from one of those sites and the cigars arrived so dry it’s like they were driving around with them on their dashboard for a few days. Olivia V,s I complained and heard crickets. I have gone and paid twice as much to a cigar store in a pinch but it kills me to give someone 10 bucks for a cigar I just bought here for 5. Don’t get me started about the pro shop idiots selling $15 road flares out of a glass top wooden box in a display case. It’s sacrilege. Maybe I will quit and keep the 3k I spend here each year. Loyalty must be a generational thing.

Sounds to me like you’re a golf hustler.
You want them to “feel the flavor” eh?
Ha! Feel the flavor of a 7x70 yard gar? I see one or two of them puking on the 5th fairway.

After over a decade of dealing with CBID, I am convinced they never read or answer emails.

I’m not golfing with you guys. Yes, I do enjoy providing a full bodied cigar to someone who says they occasionally smoke or are trying to cut back especially a big wig and it’s sick I confess but priceless for future conversations like remember that time you took 2 puffs of that stogie I gave you and you got dizzy… you still owe me 10 bucks for tossing it…ok I am staring to see why my wife says I can be a Richard at times.

In the interest of sharing information. I received an email just now from Cigar bid about my order. It says they appreciate my concern and to make me aware I was originally charged for the lot then I it was refunded after they realized they had no lot to sell. Yada yada yada we refunded your money but it will take another 5-10 business days to post. So 21 days ago you knew you didn’t have the cigars and you then refunded my money right? Yet, in total it is going to take 31 days for me to get the money back? Complete bjull**** I think the post was read by somebody who matters and they realized they better say something. I will let you know when I get the $70 back. The email ends with thank you for your patience with an exclamation point. Apparently Rocky Patel has no idea when these will be in stock. The world is coming to an end.

To be fair I just looked on the cig international site and low and behold there are my cigars in stock. We know this is the same company in the same location right. Apparently Rocky Patel Howitzer 7/70 are plentiful at cig international. So Denisse R. you are a fibber as well.

Jefruns you seem like a good egg so I’ll let you in on a little known secret. The owner of CBid is named Dave and he loves the long time forum members and takes great pleasure in helping us with the occasion issues some run into.

Call (214) 914-3337 9-4 central time and ask for Dave, tell him you’re friends with jaderose from CBid and then explain the issue you’re having. He will get you straightened up in no time.

Welcome aboard, and don’t take ^ these guys too seriously they like to yank peoples chains from time to time. They’re good BOTL though.

CBID read and sends emails - I'm not buying that story. At any rate you dodged a bullet cause RP makes a lot of crappy cigars.

RP are some of the daily cigars. They burn even and are good enough for yard work or a golf outing.
I used to print Cigar Aficionado magazine at Brown Printing. We would print the mag two months in advance. During that time I would stock up on the little known cheap cigars with 90+ ratings on the site. After the issue was released the price would go up and I was onto my next issue. Ahh the good old days. Brown was bought and closed by Quad graphics in 2013.
I canceled the back order with cbid. If I don’t get something for the trouble I am done with CBid. I have had a few 5 packs that showed up with mid 60’s humidity. They burn like a road flare and they are never the same after a week in the humidor. I am not going to miss that. On a last minute auction I unfortunately won Factory Smokes by Drew Estate. This is the worse cigar I have ever smoked hands down this included the Berringer tubos at Walgreens.

Mid 60’s is ideal, they usually ship @72-74rh…..

Is that back when CA wasn’t full of 💩?
