Speaking of Telecaster...

72538 - Nica Rustica c/o Telecaster52. I had read good and bad reviews of these and kinda had been wanting to try one. I was really surprised at how smooth and consistent it was. I expected something a little rougher, but the blend was right up my alley. Really a very nice smoke. Any idea how long this one had been resting T52?

72,539- AB Nica Puro Stogie talked me into it.

I think I ordered these in April this year but the box is dated 2018. I think that's when they stopped production.

No.You.Are.Not.

Put the box down and reassess your love for flat rate boxes and packing tape.... It's not healthy.

But I hope you enjoyed the cigar.

I am not on the welcoming committee (they should be along shortly with waffle questions) but don't forget to put the next sequential number in front of your smoked cigar so we can attempt, poorly, to keep track of something for some purpose that is terribly unclear. Also, welcome.

To quote the illustrious Princess Leia, "I am not a committee" but welcome Pips.

As Stogie alluded to, one question of utmost importance: Pancakes or Waffles?

Really liked the one I smoked in March. Hoping a few more months of rest will make this even better.

Edit: the spice(s) and (white?) pepper seemed more forward than what I remembered…but in a good way. Burn and draw were spot-on. These are gonna be great down the road, too bad the right coast place is sold out. d'oh!

doing the same...smoked two and was a bit underwhelmed...construction was fine, flavor not bad but had my hopes way up...

have decided to let the rest sit for a few months/year...hope you're right that there will be a measurable improvement

Interesting…. Think

I know you have a much more developed palate than me so maybe my plebeian tastes were easily impressed?

it does seem as though our tastes in cigars are usually aligned...and I normally agree with your judgement on the quality of a specific cigar...

the Reviver was a decent cigar, but I had high hopes...The Corojo and criolla wrapper didn't deliver the spicy sweet cedar punch I was expecting, given the hype...this seemed more like a standard Nicaraguan leather, wood and strong tobacco kinda smoke...see the over the top review by Kohnhead that swayed my purchase:

72564 micallef Reata Churchill from a trade with delta. Solid smoke. Very nice. With some google help. This is a Mexican Claro wrapper. Silky smooth but full of flavors. Lovin it.

Everything you sent in that package has been amazing. Thank you again

Yup, Katman’s review sent me immediately to the site and I bought a box. Luckily the discount coupon code worked so was able to get them for under $9 per, shipping included.

Can’t explain the differences of opinion but maybe it’s as simple as different roller and different bales of tobacco?

72573 - Foundation The Tabernacle lancero from Jake. I thought it was excellent. Really interesting floral notes, and some kinda yeasty thing in the middle like beer. I found myself puffing too fast because I liked it so much, had to force myself to slow down. Thank you Jake!

glad you liked it/them, Jake. Micallef kinda flies under the radar here in the CBid forums...rarely mentioned...I got one a few years ago at the Big Smoke in Las Vegas...it was the Herencia...IMHO, it was the best of that show's offerings, and it didn't hurt that the Cigar Vixen was personally working their table...

I've tracked down a few other of their lines, including the Reata, and have thought highly of most...ironically the one that got high ratings in CA, the Leyenda, was my least fave...

I do believe I have more of those now that you mention it. That was the first of those I’ve tried. Oddly seems CA ratings really don’t mean much. Once in a while I’ll agree a cigar is good that they give high ratings to. But as a rule I pay little mind to anything they publish. I get more solid info from this forum.
