I missed the forum on this subject below as I seldom check way down below anymore. But I have one of these scissors that I won here, and I destroyed one cigar with it and won't do the same to another. I mean who are they kidding? Are these children's scissors to cut off the top of bubble gum cigars? They look nice, but pathetic for cutting, not a sharp edge anywhere, and it is not worth the time to get them razor sharp. So 8 months ago I splurged $50 for a Zino self sharpening guillotine cutter, and never used anything since, and it is still razor sharp. My local tobacconist has been using his for four years, and his is still razor sharp so that sold me, a one time investment and never having to worry about buying another unless it is lost of course. So my advice is stop playing around with novelties, especially when it comes to your cigars, and make the investment in a really fine cutter, I think these are sometimes offered on the merchandise board here. While I am here, I was also throw my two cents in on lighters. This is another area that I have too many, and all so-so. They all advertise their gimmicks and what not, but the lighter I have settled on is a butane lighter that looks like a pen. It has a great soft, adjustable flame, very good for outdoors, and extremely reliable. I mean how many times has it happened to you, buy a lighter, a month later you click to light up, and nothing happens, click, click, click, no flame. Most electric lighters have very short lives. And I don't like those lighters that has a flame that is like a rocket booster.

Uh oh....I guess you're not going to like what I sent you then...one of those "Rocket Booster" turbo torch lighters that uses standard disposable lighters..Oh well..I love mine!..solves the problem of tunnels and runners nicely!..

Watch for the "Protecto-Cut Guillotine Cutter"
I bought one - liked it so much I bought two more.
( 1 for the car, 1 for the TV and 1 for the computer )
Well constructed & give clean cuts every time.
Don't know how long they'll last but for arround $9.00
well worth it.

Torch lighters (blazers, knockoffs??) are great. I must have a dozen lying around the house, car, office and never have problems. Refill them constantly and away we gooo! I agree on the scissor info, they are crap. I have a couple double cut g-tine cutters, by soft-touch. I've had them for a couple of years so I would say the $5 investment each was worth it.

I made the mistake of bidding here on a stainless steel cutter that sucks! I think it is probably about time for me to splurge on a good one.

I probably haven’t used my cigar scissors in 5+ years.

Used a scissor last time I was golfing. I’ve got one of those oliva divot tools with scissors and ball marker. It’s not my favorite but it will cut a cigar.

I tried an off brand scissor recently. Wasn't great. I've got a couple of the Xikar MXT muti-tool scissors though and they rocked. Used them exclusively until they dulled some. Need to work on that.
