This forum has been open for a few months now and I have yet to see any one post anything on Opus X. I enjoy these very much. Am I alone?

Probably not mentioned since the OpusX are not auctioned on the site. Then again, it could be because the availability and inflated prices for them are not worth the hassle. Unless one lives west of the Mississippi, chances of getting one are slim.

Typo: availabilty to date is limited to east of the Miss. river.

I'm not a rich man but acquired a Opus X from my wealthy employer.. had it for a year in my humidor
waiting for the "time" to smoke it.. never came...
My new girlfriend's father, a supposed cigar smoker
came along... I gave it to him as a offering as my
respect... never got a word of appreciation.......
guess he did'nt like it !! lesson learned I guess..

strange thing this Opus X. I bought three of the what are they, Doble Coronas, or the largest size made by Opus, to celebrate the birth of my child last September. Well the time came, my girl was born, then I looked at them in my cabinet, and I still couldn't bring myself to smoke one! So I still have three of these in my humidor, I see them everyday, and if I can't bring myself to smoke one at the birth of my child, I have no idea what occassion will cause me to break down and smoke it. They sure are pretty to look at though.

oh by the way, what did I smoke when my girl was born? At the hospital I had a Don Carlos, (hospital sure aren't cigar friendly anymore are they?) then at home I had a Cuban Cohiba. (I didn't have the Punch Doble Coronas at the time), so at least I smoked something decent.

Being on Cigarbid so much,I almost forgot that these things existed...Oh well I guess there's other things to smoke but it would be interesting to see what we bidders would do if some did go up auction:)

Yes, the Opus X are good, though I have smoked a few that were not all that (maybe counterfeit). Try the Ashton VSG Torpedo, slightly better than Opus, and as good as an aged Bolivar belicoso.

Had the Opus X at my wedding 3 years ago, my wife had one as well. They are in the top 3 cigars that I have ever had. Cohiba, Bolivar, and Opus X. Punch and Romeo are right up there too.

I do the same thing. I was gifted an OpusX more than a year ago and it still sits in my coolerdor in a box with my Havanas. Durring that time I've smoke several Lusitanias, Hoyo and Punch Corona Dobles, Montecristo #2s (all from Cuba) but still can't bring myself to torch that OpusX. Prettiest damn cigar I have ever seen but what good is a cigar you can't smoke?

I've enjoyed about four or five Opus X cigars, the last one about a year ago...They're very good and "relatively" easy to obtain here in Chicago, but I can't see myself spending $15.00 for one Robusto..A little steep for me, even though I purchase Cubans and have a Partagas 150 Churchill that I'm saving until my wife has our first child (a couple years from now)..Incidentally, I recently heard that Fuente will be releasing Opus X (if they haven't done so already) on the west side of the Mississippi soon..Only problem is supposedly he won't be increasing production but simply maintaining the same amount and sending 50% of the current production to the west side of the big river..Got it?..So for me and everyone else who can obtain them now, it will be extremely hard to buy them when that happens...Doesn't help that Fuente enforces in authorized cigar shops the rule of allowing someone to purchase only two Opus X cigars per day...What a crock

Ha! Opus X Culebra? I think if 3 come out, he'll just weep instead of lighting up. "There goes the cigar budget" he'd sob.

I remember buying a couple for about $15 apiece in the mid 2000s because it was the most I had ever paid for a cigar, and I was asking myself if it was getting bougie.

I kept one in the humi, and when I started back, smoked it about 2 years ago. It was fantastic!

I've only tried the Lost City. I've got a couple chilling. I should hunt one of them down one of these days.

Ah, the days of Opus allocation. They really did only allow two back in the early days. In 2003 I found a little shpo that had an almost full box of Power Rangers (35 per box) and no sign for a limit. Took the box up to the young guy at the counter and bought them all for $8 each IIRC.

Still have a few of those.

Last time I smoked an X was at Casa Fuente in LV over a decade ago. Too many good smokes out there now to hunt an Opus X down and pay the price for it. My Shpo has them in their "locked" case, I walk by every time looking for something else.

I'd be more tempted by that $8 each price tag
