been living with the guy (we love him) for a few years.
He shows up here a couple weeks ago, asks for our OK.
Duh

He hires a photographer.
Takes her to The Mandarin Oriental Hotel (Boston) today for the weekend.
During dinner he pops the question with a sweet ring...and a photographer.

She says yes.

Tomorrow looks like a beach day.

Many many Mazel Tovs! I can only imagine the joy of seeing your child grow up and be able to have such a happy occasion bless her (and your) life. Such nachas.

Such great news. I hope this brings all the joy and happiness that you and Caren deserve.
Please forward my love and congratulations to the women in your life.
Or keep it for yourself. You've always been a selfish lover.

I'm kinda cringing about three legged frank at the beach.

Three tracks in the snow is one thing but three tracks in the sand - ouch! That's gonna rub some things raw.

Congrats Frank...you prolly have some mixed emotions, as did I...

I don't mean to make this about me, but...it was with some ambivalence when I permitted my daughter's boyfriend to propose. My immediate response to his query was a loud "HELL NO!" His reaction was that he thought I was just kidding and acted as if I had approved. We had enjoyed many warm moments and shared many experiences with him and his family over the years, including before the two became a couple. He was/is a great guy. So of course I agreed to share the bottle of fine tequila he presumptuously brought to mark the occasion.

The source of my regret was that my daughter and I enjoyed a wonderful father/daughter relationship, which I knew would be changed forever. We did many travels and activities together, just the two of us. I had immersed myself in my son's youth sports activities and didn't want her to feel ignored or loved less...so it was difficult to hand her over... especially since my SIL is a political opposite and has converted my daughter to the dark side...so much so that we agreed to avoid talking politics...but now I have two beautiful grand-daughters... all-in-all a fine outcome.

Congratulations to you and Caren. Best wishes for the betrothed couple.

Wishing you all the joy and happiness you deserve - as well as grand youngun's for many generations.

And as Luca Brazzi so eloquently stated " may their fist child be a masculine child".

Missed this one.... Mazel Tov!

Frank could have save the photographer money and used a camera on his tripod, and do it on the beach.

It would have been memorable for the young couple.

The kind of Forever Memory- regardless off the amount of therapy they have.

So let us know when she sets a date - that way we can plan the pre or post wedding herf for you depending upon how much you are kvetching about picking up her tab.

Seriously - have always said if you can survive the wedding planning the marriage will be off to a great start.

And the wisest man knows to let the Wonderful Caren do the planning and stay out of the way.

HA!
Don't tell her I said this, but TLC freaked out a little 10 years ago when our oldest was getting married and I took over and pulled off a miracle.

But I think she is gonna be good for this one...doesn't seem like it will require as much on our end...this daughter might want a smaller gathering at a destination...

not a fan of destination weddings but I do love this girl!

Some of youse guys will understand the extra incentive as Danny was her twin brother.
I have to stay cool until it's done.
