i find i get to enjoy my cigars the most when i sit out on the balcony with glass of my favorite beverage (too many to name), children must be sleeping (if it applies), nice and quiet. I have tried smoking my gars in bars and clubs, but there is just too much activity to enjoy them. I.E. smoke the cheap ones there, not the ISOM's. Oh yeah, one other time but we shall not talk about that here.... enjoy...

I have found that the best time to smoke is after dinner.A good cigar paired with a good bourbon over ice (Makers Mark,Bookers,Eligah Craig)completes my day perfectly.Sometimes while I'm working good coffee goes well too. These are only a few suggestions(and my opinions) but I do agree that cigars are always better when you can relax and reflect:)

I enjoy smoking a nice Habano while sitting on my patio and reading a book, sipping a nice Hacken-Pschorr (German beer) with a twist of lemon, enjoying the beautiful weather ('course it's thirty degrees right now..brrrr) or while in the company of another person who enjoys a good cigar as much as I do, just relaxing and shooting the s**t, reflecting on the day's events without a care in the world

Great feedback!!! So I get the picture...but what about all those gadgets for clipping and stuff? I mean is it REALLY as basic as lighting it up and puffing away or what? I don't want to in any way lose some of the flavor or smoke time by not doing it right! And most likely I'll lit up in my own backyard. We have an incredible 30' waterfall that we built on the hill out back, leading to a small pond. Our yard is landscaped in all sorts of tropical plants. We spend many hours a week on the patio enjoying that. We also enjoy red wines...a good merlot, shiraz, or zinfandel for the richer flavors, so I'll have to decide on that too. Or maybe the ol' standby and personal fav of Jack 'n coke. I don't know if I'm going through my rebelleous stage in my 30's or what! I only just started drinking beer and wine 2 years ago and now this cigar thing fell into my lap...Thanks for the help. LMK about the basic stuff...

Make sure to use either a butane lighter or cedar matches when you light it. Regular lighters (using lighter fluid) will ruin the flavor. Hold the flame slightly away from the cigar and gently inhale while rotating the cigar slowly. I've been using a V cutter for bigger cigars. It does a great job.

Go to CigarsInternational.com ... click on 'Cigars 101' ... that answered a lot of questions I had.

... first, you must click on 'Big List of Brands' ... then 'Cigar 101' ... it's on the top left of your screen.

“Correct form”?

Cut ‘em

Light ‘em

Smoke ‘em

I generally smoke a couple hours after dinner and spend about two hours out in the garage. While I really would like to sit and smoke in an Adirondack chair, I couldn’t find a fold up one (…space in the garage is tight…). However (…said in my best Stephen A. Smith irritating voice…), just before Christmas I found this really comfortable folding chair with a high back and bought it as a “Merry Christmas to me” gift. Well worth the close to $100 for it.

I’ve got a recliner in my shed. If I’m going to focus on the cigar it’s important I’m comfortable lol

Found the perfect Adirondack replacement just a few weeks ago. My old one was held together with duct tape I had had it so long, had to get a new one. Took a little adjustment to get used to it, but now I am smoking in plastic lawn chair heaven.

I prefer the old web folding chairs, particularly after a plastic adirondack broke under me during a smoke.

Had a similar experience with the web chairs, and an unfortunate malfunction with a director's style chair, and the feet split on a folding camp chair.

I may need to start working out again Think
