Return to Forever - Romantic Warrior

Saw this lineup in Berkeley in November 1977. Awesome show. Stanley Clarke was out of this world!

Considering that the crime has been ongoing you might have a case.

Journey - Freedom

“The Way We Used To Be”

https://youtu.be/ioRSxki0dV8

Steve who?

Some of Neil's better work. He's ALWAYS been a "headset pay attention to what I'm doing but it's hard to do" guitarist.

The rest of the album isn't bad either...I just really like this cut. It's like a double middle finger to all those fans that say it's not Journey without Steve Perry. That guy's voice is shot and cannot do it day in and day out on tour. Not only that, but there's all the crap he ran that band through...I say good riddance and the band that is the band now...see ya out there!

A mixed CD of jazz and jazz-rock ranging from Gabor Szabo to Ramsey Lewis to Full Moon to Cold Blood. A bit eclectic fo’ sure.

Poco - The Forgotten Trail (1969-1974)

Never hit the big time despite the talent. Richie Furay, Jim Messina, Paul Cotton, Rusty Young, Randy Meisner and Timothy B. Schmit were all part of the band at some point or another. I don’t think they get enough credit for being one of the pioneers of country-rock.

Todd Rundgren and the Hello People - May 23, 1978, Roxy Theatre, W. Hollywood, CA

Two+ hours of a wizard and a true star.

Saw Todd only once in 1979 when he toured with Utopia and they stopped off on their way back from Japan.

Weather Report - Heavy Weather

Never get tired of listening to “Birdland” and “A Remark You Made”.

Linton Kwesi Johnson - Forces of Victory

One of the joys of working in a record store was “discovering” new artists and then turning customers on to them. Such was the case with LKJ. We played this album often and while we may not have converted every customer who was in the store, I’d hazard to guess 1 out of 3. HOF numbahs fo’ sure!

Billy Strings-Dust In a Baggie

Saw this kid over the weekend on PBS(Austin City Limits)....this young guy and his band all just SMOKE their instruments...it's bluegrass, and I was ready to change the channel, but after
a few seconds listening, I was completely awestruck. Smoking, just simply SMOKIN'

He's teased this song live and finally put it down as a track. THIS is the kinda album Young needs to keep on putting out. His last couple were tough to wade through.

I took some audio classes from Steve Huston, drummer and one of the founding members. Had some great stories over beers after class.

Don’t think I don’t see a connection between the highlighted above and your what are you watching post!

Applause
