I know this has been mentioned in the past, but what are your experiences with this $$$ smoke. I have been considering adding several to my collection of top shelf smokes. Also what would you consider a fair price for them( robusto and C)?

About $500 per box would be fair for the Churchill size. That would be about $250-$300 off most retail. Still, I don't think any cigar is worth this price.

i suggest you don't collect them because one day they will dry out regardless of how well they are stored. you are adding water to the cigar to replace it's natural moisture. buy them and smoke them. i paid about $30 ea for two of these. they were fine. would i trade 5 or 6 hemmingways for one, or 5 or 6 monte #5s. no. if you are loaded (rich), it doesn't matter. an expensive, fancy cigar every so often for a special occasion, is nice, but if you are going to smoke 5 or 6 cigars a day, or even 3 or 4, be careful you are not smoking a car payment. there are some very good cigars around for less than $3.00, sometimes, like the hamilton's box that was just on closeout for $20. for 25 cigars. in vegas at the new york casino, they get $15. or more for the same thing. it is true, that sometimes the difference between a $15. cigar and a $3. cigar is $12. quoting the rat that bought and sold his stock and screwed a lot of small stock holders. you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find a princess. the 5 pack is a good way to try different ones and when you find "your" good ones, buy them at auction by the box. also, not a good idea to mix different cigars in a humidor. put an onion and a piece of fish and some cheese in an ice box and see what happens to flavor. an exageration of course, but not much, when you are dealing with subtle flavors of cigars. plenty of cheap cigar jar type holders for $10. if you buy them at stores selling jars and not a cigar store. good cigars don't require much aging, the have already melded, cheap cigars are not going to get much better. collect beanie babies, smoke cigars.

Rick, what do you mean that one day they will dry out? Are you suggesting that aging cigars is not a good idea?

"Smoke cigars, collect beanie babies". Well stated, Rick. I do, however, need to rebut on your comment: "you are adding water to the cigar to replace it's natural moisture.". This is 100% UNTRUE. If you store them in a properly humidified environment, the natural moisture in the tobacco will never leave (well, almost never. You should never say never...). Only when the humidity is too low will moisture escape the cigar, and only when it is too humid will it actually absorb an appreciable amount. I could be wrong, but I doubt it. It's too early in the year...

A few years ago at a local shop, I asked if they had them and yup, they had all the sizes! Hadda go back into their storeroom since it wasn't on open display. I think the least expen$ive one was $25.
