One time I had some catfish that was pretty good. During a corporate quality audit of the Palo Verde nuclear site in the middle of nowhere Arizona. Well, it is close to Buckeye where GmCooper lives, I think. Anyway, we stayed at the man camp they built there for craft workers. They did have excellent food and one night they served fried catfish, pretty tasty.

Iffn I’m not mistaken Palo Verde’s the largest nuclear site in the nation. About 50 miles west of Phoenix. I think Cooper lives next-door.

saw blue(?) catfish at the market recently but figgered TLC wouldn't go for it.
I'm a pretty adventurous eater so would have taken a shot.
I don't fry fish but mighta tried a quick 15/20 minute bake at 400 wif lemon. garlic, etc.
Prolly some asparagus wif the same seasoning on the same parchment lined pan.

I do that wif rainbow trout and the catfish looked kinda thin like the trout.

Mornin’.

Dog walk next, then packing for an overnight in God’s Country.

Forecast for tubing the river- sunny, light breeze and 83.

Getting some Mother Nature Love after enduring last week’s Saturday night monsoon.

Morning folks. Headed back to the valley this morning. It’s been nice cool and rainy all week in the mountains but almost the whole state has been unusually cool and rainy.

Yeah, but the river should be a little higher and flowing a bit better, right?

I recall a float down that river and a bright red sunburn... ooof.d'oh!

Dog park... different variety. This one was wooded with lots of trails and a pond. Guess who went swimming?

Not me.

Guess who has a truck with a sandy back seat?

Me. d'oh!

Woke up around 0230 and couldn't find my way back to sleep. Rummaged through the freezer and dug out some thick pork chops and 2 slabs of back ribs. But then I fell asleep around 0800. Wife woke me up at noon and I immediately put the meats on the smoker. Probly won't be done for dinnertime

Good Saturday Afternoon! It was hot and it rained, but only after our match was finished. I came in third in the factory classification, not bad for an old fart.

He won't jump in a pool. If he can wade in, like at the beach or a pond, he will. Doesn't like the hose. Not a fan of baths, but tolerates them.

He's weird.

Sliced up some cucumbers (pretty bountiful harvest so far re: cukes). Used a mandolin for the first couple but ended up taking a sliver of my thumb with it. Went back to just using a knife and cutting board.

Cukes, diced red onion, red wine vinegar, bit of of salt, pepper, sugar and a palm full of dill weed. Toss around and let marinade in the fridge.

I won't say it's my go to bored activity, but I have been known to fire up the smoker when I get bored. Probably because it's a beer drinkin' chore. Ya know?

Note to self... buy a new smoker and new grill.

About 80/98 here today and another chance for rain. We got a good storm last night and just spent about 90 minutes cleaning up and servicing the pool.

I see the national high Friday was Medford OR at 112. Gotta be global warming run amok.
