Damn. What a wonderful world here. I was recently introduced to this site by some good friends of mine when I told them I'm interested in cigars. Have smoked a few in my life, but very few and far between. Some of the ones I've recently really enjoyed are Cuban Honeys, Devil's Weed, Java Carona, and a few other's I can't quite remember. I really enjoy the smooth and creamy profile, but the Devil's Weed while more intense, was still very enjoyable. Would love any advice on some good <$10 a stick cigars to check out or any of the packs that come more recommended. Thanks in advance!

It's hard to recommend specific cigars because tastes vary, and if you smoke for a while, your tastes will change. Right now, you're probably digging milder smokes. I suggest sticking to some of the reputable, but not huge conglomerate, companies. This site has plenty of affordable cigars by La Aurora, Oliva, Drew Estate. Things like that. Trying buying a five pack from each that looks appealing to you. Don't buy too many of any one thing because (see above) your tastes will change.

Oh, and people are getting ready to make fun of you for smoking flavored cigars. It comes with the territory, don't take it personally. A lot of people start that way, but don't usually stick with flavored stuff that long.

Good to know. I'm sure this kind of n00b question comes up often, but as a n00b, it's hard to know exactly how to jump in and connect with such a huge community. But thank you, Lee, Sunoverbeach and Telecaster - y'alls advice certainly helps me find a decent direction to start off. I also learned the hard way about considering the price of a pack during bidding. Got caught up on a bidding war and took it too serious and ended up overpaying on a pack of Drew Estate Factory Smokes. But at least it goes to continue to support this community and site. Anyway, thanks again y'all and see you out there!

Sorry about the delay! Had some family stuff to deal with, but all in the clear now.

To your questions, Tony:

Pancakes or waffles ? Pancakes (but homemade)
Do you like long walks on the beach ? Would rather be in a chair with a good bourbon and a cigar, so no.
Daisy Mae or Ellie Mae ? Ellie
Do you like camping by the river ? No - just close enough to hear it is good.
Cello on or cello off ? On
David Lee or Sammy ? Sammy
Warner Oland or Sidney Toler ? No idea
Have you been in a Turkish prison ? What's your clearance, Clarence?
Do you like gladiator movies ? Yes. I am serious, and don't call me Shirley.
Have you ever seen a grown man naked (other than mirrors or porn) ? No, but I've been nervous lots of times.
dogs or cats ? Dogs
Men or women ? One woman
Wad or fold ? Depends on the thickness, but usually fold
Sit or squat ? Sit
Mary Ann or Ginger ? Mary Ann
Do sad movies make you cry ? Sometimes
Butter or margarine ? Butter
Pancho or Cisco ? Pancho

Glad to be accepted by someone in the group!

Oh, and Telecaster, glad to hear your welcome was a warm one. Glad that this is a good place to talk cigars, amongst other things. Now to look up posts on good cigar/whiskey parings.

I'm a big fan of CAO Cigars. Most of my collection is maduro wrapped. I do have some Diesels, Java Reds, and Brickhouse is an easy smoke for beginners. Have fun trying all different brands. It can be expensive though. lol. Get a good humidor.

My go to is the V660 CAO with Single Barrel Jack Daniels. Makes for a nice evening

I prefer to relate cost to only one smoke at a time. Feels better that way. Total expenditure is for masochists

Welcome to the madhouse!

About your whiskey and cigar pairing, I've never had any cigar not go great with a good bourbon. 🥃Herfing

Whatever the liquid pairing, a smoke with a cigar smoking friend makes it even better.

6. David Lee or Sammy ? I agree with DMV here... can't believe I just said that.
7. Warner Oland or Sidney Toler ? Who?
8. Have you been in a Turkish prison ? I would like to answer this... but I won't
9. Do you like gladiator movies ? Are you not entertained?!?!?!?!?!
10. Have you ever seen a grown man naked (other than mirrors or porn) ? Of course, who hasn't
11. dogs or cats ? dogs, cats are evil monsters
12. Men or women ? See #4
13. Wad or fold ? Some weird hybrid, get the best of both worlds
14. Sit or squat ? See #2
15. Mary Ann or Ginger ? See #3
