It was a week ago, but Frank and our brides enjoyed a stellar evening down in Woods Hole.
We even tried to stiff the waitress, but in the end we paid in full.
Fun times.
Thanks for joining us. Good to see you two.
Plus, we found a great place to eat right on the water.
Although I hope it's only a rumor what those oysters can do for your libido...

Side note: Having friends over tonight for some smoked pork butt.
Drinking a Long Drink right now.
Wondering if it's named after you...

Ha!

got home today and was trying to come up wif a funny OP for our night on the town.
We had a great time with youse guys. We were not surprised as we have a history now. Loved the location, only bested by the company.

It's probably no secret that we are not politically compatible yet always seem to enjoy the heck out of each other. I was thinking about that and it dawned on me (light dawns on Marblehead) that we really don't discuss stuff as politics but rather as social issues, like our exchanges about they/them and stuff.

As for stiffing the waitress, our first attempt was foiled by the fact that the best escape route was the Atlantic Ocean. And our actual attempt was due to your refusal to use reading glasses.

Our friendship is one reason I sometimes state that magic happens here. Glad I met ya.

Let's do that old dinner plan in Plymouth or thereabouts too.

as for Long Drink, after I turned them down they went with Tuukka cuz he has a long name.

Delta and I get along quite well and we don't see politics the same.

We actually talk politics, sometimes, too... easier to be respectful in conversations when you've actually met and developed a respect for one another.

Just sayin'.

good example, and good insight.
And having met, we both know it would be true with us as well.

It's a big advantage and a game changer to meet as opposed to firing shots from a keyboard.
I shake my head sometimes when people get waaay upset with tailgater cuz I know him well enough to picture him smiling as he types. Even his voice smiles when he speaks! He's a funny (lower case) sob, just seems happy all the time...but who wouldn't be if they conned Shannon into marrying them?*

*Couldn't figure out how to not use they/them above.

Probably helps also when you take them out a few miles on your boat before getting into the politics...

though we had two weeks, we did not stray far from the home base which was minutes away from downtown Hyannis.
The closest I could find to what you are looking for was at Naked Oyster, which might just be my favorite restaurant.

It's not a dump but is a small, narrow joint. I wouldn't call it cheap at all, though there are a few items on the small menu that aren't expensive. It's not off the beaten path, actually on Main St in Hyannis...

for the full menu:
https://www.nakedoyster.com/ or search naked oyster hyannis

The chef/owner farms her own oysters and does the local food scene thing. She used to be closed Monday and Tuesday but recently started serving on Tuesdays, the smallish entre list does change along with her purchases.

In addition to a dozen raw oysters, we had the mussels app which came in a sauce that I wanted to bathe in, soooo good and the mussels were plump and not "fishy".

Below are the not-raw oysters. We had the persillade and they were delicious.

STEWED AND BAKED

Six freshly shucked oysters-sherry-cream-shallots

UOyster Rockefeller 20

Oysters are cooked for only a handful of reasons:

1. you're not man enough to eat it raw.
2. you've had so many oysters because all your friends have shell fish licenses and you've had half dozen of those buggers every day for two weeks.
3. you feel compelled to be fancy and don't know what you're doing so you throw 'em on the grill.

Don't get me wrong. Grilled oysters are fantastic.
But fresh out of the bay, shucked to keep the ocean nectar in place...

"Frank on Cape Cod"

Is this anything like "Pablo on the crapper"?

I've reread the first two sentences of the OP several times...I'm convinced it's code for some shady stuff...just can't figure it out...

MACS and I are perfect examples, as it seems with tailgater and frank, that politics do not define us. He and I discovered we have much more in common and chief among them is a sense of humor, a fondness for food and beverages and enjoyment of family and friends. Our occasional forays into politics never become personal.
