Scientists establish link between religious fundamentalism and brain damage
A study published in the journal Neuropsychologia has shown that religious fundamentalism is, in part, the result of a functional impairment in a brain region known as the prefrontal cortex....

I will happily volunteer to drop that anvil.

I've been interested in this for some time.

From what I've seen, religious people tend to be easier to sell as long as you appear to be like minded to them (It always helps to relate in some way anyway).

It's far easier to bullsh*t a religious person than it is a non-religious one.

On the other side of that, is if you try to educate them on a topic and tell them the truth, they are more likely to think your full of sh*t.

Then you have the highly functionals who proclaim they are religious and act the part, they have the bumper stickers and sh*t, do the networking (go to church), etc... But they don't actually buy it. These guys tend to be business owners and stuff... lot of times they'll put a Jesus fish on their site to show how Christian they are... they are just taking advantage of the gullibility.

Fascinating...

there are some truly sincere and good deeply religious people...my younger brother (RIP) was one, as are many of his friends...one quality that seems to stand out among this caliber of religious believer is the absence of judgmental attitudes and latent evangelism
