Picked up a bottle of Rittenhouse Rye.

Tasty.

Edit: crap , this is 100 proof. I need a seatbelt.

Also, my neighbor has his backyard smoker going and whatever he is smoking smells amazing. I want to ninja crawl over the block wall and take a taste.

Try the peated one? It’s good, but that Oloroso Sherry one is really nice.

Don't drink and ninja crawl, especially over walls. Important rule for stealth & safety.

Imust have pre-heeded your advice. If I had gone over, I likely would have woken up in their pool this morning.

Gentlemen, anyone tried Old Overholt Rye Whiskey?

If so, thoughts? Think

How does it compare to Sazerac?

Seems like a good deal popped up on the Bonded expression at a local adult bev chain, 1L for $20 so for the price I may just get a bottle.

I enjoy Old Overholt BiB for the price, with the red cap!

Last night while herfing with a couple of h.s. buddies at The Row Kaka'ako:

Double shot of ECBP with a large ice sphere.

No idea of what batch it's from but it didn't seem as high proof as either of the two bottles I have at home so maybe in the low 120s.

So.. I went to a buddy's house last night to smoke a cigar and he poured me a glass of Whistlepig 10yr rye. This was the stuff I bought and thought tasted like a glass of wheatgrass juice, never to be bought again. I figured I would suffer through the glass and tell him I loved it, but this bottle tasted totally different and excellent.

Of all the reviews on the total wine web site for Whistlepig, a handful mentioned the really grassy taste. I wonder if only some bottles have this weird after taste?

Just saw a commercial for Clyde May's Alabama Whiskey and a bourbon.

Anybody had it?

What are the attributes that make it an Alabama Whiskey?

I've tried a couple of their Alabama style whiskies..............not bad but I only bit once on an entire bottle and once on a bar pour

I'm not sure what makes it an Alabama whiskey............it just tasted young and tannic.

had it years ago.
don't remember much, think I went back for a different version that I also don't recall.
I think it's main attribute to be called Alabama whiskey is being from Alabama.

I think it was actually OK.

Russell's Reserve... and it's more expensive in FL than CA. $72 vs $67 dollars.

*sigh*

I guess everything isn't cheaper here. But hey... when I'm saving $1.50 a gallon of gas I guess when I go get it in the truck I still make out!

Bright side, right?

Kyrö Malt Rye Whisky, Fantastic! Smooth, sippable at room temp with no water.

Made in Finland.

They also make a gin that is really tasty.
