It appears the billing department is still up and running, but processing and shipping are on vacation. Any idea on when product will start flowing again.

^I like this guy.

He very succinctly put his finger on the asymmetry of dealing with large corporations like this. They certainly don't tolerate staffing shortages in the billing department. They are very prompt, diligent, and professional about billing somebody's credit card.

Nor do they accept excuses. If I am $.01 short paying for my order - no order for you! If they don't deliver, or half asp around about it, don't answer the phone, etc., then well, no body's perfect, you gotta be reasonable and all, blah, blah, blah. Excuses.

Actually you're both wrong. If you check your CC statements you'll discover nothing is billed until it is shipped.
I've been waiting since July 19th and have only received five 5-packs out of a 600 cigar order.
I just checked my CC account and so far I've only been billed $60.32 on July 29th.

I suspect those of us who've been waiting unusually long times for our orders will get some sort of bonus or credit for future purchases. It's just good business.

We'll see.

You’re right, mine came with this awesome credit to a wine subscription club and another for a discount on my first Door Dash delivery. Herfing

They have customer service working on it. They have some leads to alleviate the problem and find your cigars.

We already know their business model. You won't get chit but the wine club thing (which is already on that wine club's website, you don't need the card they send you with the super-secret special code. I know because I signed wifey up for it for a while.), and you will get the doordash thing.

And I think you miss the larger point. Consumers are expected to be perfect in their delivery of what is asked of them (money). Large corporations, on the other hand, have staffing issues because of the economy, and supply-chain issues, and etc., etc., etc. I don't give a chit. I don't whine to Cbid about my mortgage payment or how much I (still) owe in student loans. They don't care. Why should I care about their issues? And, as has already been said, I bet they do not have a staffing shortage in the billing department. That would be intolerable, and they will pay what it takes to fill those positions. Staffing shortage in the customer service department. Well, you gotta understand ...

Hell of it is, I've never actually had a problem with my Cbid orders, even during the height of the pandemic. Anxious

But theoretically, they suck.

I have an even better response. STOP ORDERING FROM THEM IF THEY CANNOT EVEN RUN THIS BUSINESS

ZRX1200 wrote:
They are experiencing a higher than normal volume of orders currently, that’s why there is some lag on lots listed that are on backorder and why it is taking so much time to answer calls.

For right now your best bet is to private message Celticbomber the official CBid liaison for customer service issues. He is awesome and is a huge help.

Thanks stePHan and thanks to everyone for your continued patients and patronage.

Hi!

Your account is set for Tuesday processing.

By selecting WEEKLY Tuesday as your shipping preference, all lots closing the previous Tuesday through Monday will be processed Tuesday morning and shipped within 1-2 business days.

We will process your winnings tomorrow!

Take care! Herfing

Wrong for your issue, but right for the specific one she addressed. Hopefully they'll get back on top of things soon. In the meantime, I don't know that taking your business from Cbid to CI will quite send the message you intend to send them

I'll show those jerks at Sam's Club! I'll shop at Walmart instead!

Well the major portion of my order is still listed as "Processing"...
although I received it in a huge box from UPS this afternoon.

Still have to go through everything and see if what's listed is what is actually present.
This'll take some time...

Not quite.
362 by my count. I'm missing one 5-pack out of a set of two and in another case received one cigar rather than one 5-pack.
Although I also received a bundle of 20 I didn't order.
Of course it couldn't be Arturo Fuente or Tatuaje or Partagas.
Just a block of Brick House Fumas for me to give away. Not sure how that snuck in as I never even bid on any of 'em.
Oh well. I guess that's my consolation prize.

Wondering how long the backordered items will take to catch up.

Sometime a backorder turns into a no longer available - tho that hasn't happened to me in quite a while - last time it was Kinky Friedman.

Yeah, happens all the time in my business. I'm an appliance repairman and when a part is backordered I tell the customer to buy a new appliance because it'll be months at least before they start catching up... probably years... and often never.
Not too worried about the BO cigars, I have enough to last the rest of this year and most of the next.

Yeah they make pretty good laundry systems.
In the last five or eight years they've kinda headed the way of everyone else but they're still decent.
I'd never buy any appliance from Samsung, LG, or GE. ESPECIALLY not refrigerators.
