Strange that an Idaho Walmart would carry this WI local. Thought I’d give it a try and I’m glad I did.

Leines was bought out by Miller back in the late 80's or early 90's during the microbrew boom. They started making more flavors than the basic Leines and Leines Bock and began being distributed outside of the local WI/MN region.

I think they are owned by Molsen/Coors now but it's still brewed primarily in Chippewa Falls, WI (neighboring town to where I grew up) and in Milwaukee.

As you said, it's distributed nationwide nowadays.

When I was little my mom banned my dad from buying Leines because it gave him some really stinky farts.

7733~ Barrel House Z (Weymouth MA) Old Exit 16 Golden Ale
4.0 abv
7734~ Barrel House Z Like Foxes Copper Ale 5.1abv

gifted a couple of each by the kid across the street who does his food truck there once a week and said he's over loaded on their brews.
Neither in my wheelhouse but more than tasty for somewhat lighter efforts.

7738~ The Alchemist (Vermont) Focal Banger American IPA 7%abv

hey DED-

I wasn't even looking for beer when I wandered into a local liquor shpo today, saw a sign stating they just received limited shipment of Heady Topper and Focal Banger this morning.
They had 2 four packs of each left out of a one case shipment that the manager had no idea how they got...I have never seen anything from them in any shpo anywhere in New England and thought all their stuff was only available at the mystical brewery (and sold out within minutes of opening) and a handful of places in and north of Burlington Vermont.

He asked me to limit my purchase to just one of the four packs, so having had Heady Topper several years ago, I opted for this one.
So, pretty good stuff in that Eastern style hazy hoppy way. I enjoyed it, the hoppiness may have been tamed a bit by the British malts. Pine-ness a bit subdued as well.

I got three left, one is going to a neighbor, another is going into my belly...you want the other?

Very unusual find. On our recent trip through Vermont we stopped in Grafton, a very little town south of Burlington. Walked in a general store/deli to get a sammish and there sitting in a grab-and-go ice cooler were both beers. I took a pic but didn't buy cuz we were already carrying around 3 4packs of Tree House beers which we had to consume during the trip.

Would love to have it!
