Sinus infection coming on, I can feel it. Time to start flushing with saline and see if a little bourbon won't kill it. I'll drink the bourbon, not flush my sinuses with it... although that'd prolly get me drunk as hell.

Sounds like Covid.

Finished splitting the big black walnut I dropped a few weeks back.

Burnt hand blister popped. Soaked my glove.

Trees are done for the year. Told wife to pick out cabinets and countertops n stuff. Kitchen is next and I can't wait. It's the last uninsulated room in the house and you can feel the wind coming in through the soffit. It'll pay for itself once sealed up

Welcome to FL.

Sand.

Hit water about 12" down. Sooner if lucky. Remember copper sulfate is your friend.

Say, how ya feelin'?

Is it really legal to use copper sulfate in Florida?

Yo peeps! Nascar is in town for the season ending championship races Friday-Sunday. Been seeing their big haulers on the roads all week. Younger brother has tickets but I'm going to watch it on the tube. I'm not a hugh fan but I saw what Ross Chasten did last week. That was spectacular.

Big game today is #1 vs #2. Go Vols! Don't really expect them to beat Georgia but it's possible.

I thought UGA was ranked #3 behind OSU? I think the Vols can absolutely beat Georgia. I don't want them to, but it is very possible.

OSU? No chance in hell they beat Georgia. Not sure why they're at #2.

Bolstered mine.

How these CFP dipsheits gonna rank the reigning champs anywhere but #1? If UGA and OSU meet, it is not going to be pretty. Heard it here, first.

Grilled some flatbread pizza for dinner.

Goat cheese fresh mozzarella olives etc. Loads of weird chit. Kimchee, artichokes, anchovies, dried peppers n stuff. Wife n boys pizzas were pretty regular sausage pepperonis n stuff.

Brisket left the sous vide bath now. Sits for 2 hours then sear on the grill already 500F looking for 700F to get that good crispy crust.

6 hours smoked 26 in the hot tub. Thought I'd go longer but I pinched the point in the bag and was able to get my fingers through, so I figure it's done. Might be great might be chit. It's 20lbs of meat hope it's not the latter.

I haven't been very socially active for five years, a little here and there but first life and then covid and then life kinda changed things...

but tonight we met a couple of couples at the local AMVETS for pizza and live music. I might be cured!

cheap drinks (the bartender thought MORE vermouth made a martini dry) great bar pizza (a MA South Shore exclusive) and a pretty decent band..place was loaded with Viet Nam era folks, many I haven't seen in years. It was great.

Good Sunday Morning! It's 70° on the way to 78° today. The flu still has me feeling like crap, imporving, but still crap.

The driveway is covered in wet leaves so my wife could not get to the stire yesterday. Her Traverse is fron wheel drive but the driveway is so steep too much weight is shifter to the rear wheels. I can back it up the driveway and it works fine, but that is my job not hers, and I'd have to pick my way back down to the house without falling on wet leaves and concrete. I'll probably just drive her in the truck, it's 4 wheel drive. I don't feel like spending an hour plus with the backpack blower my back is begining to really resent, this place wants to kill me.

Finished an above ground planter for the wife. Bought a galvanized steel one from amazon, put it together, and filled it with 50-50 potting soil/manure.
