Hopefully the Republicans have learned something from the mid-term FIASCO.

Yes this election was nothing short of a trouncing for the Republicans. By all rights, they should have won super majorities in both houses. But, like a dog that chases a tire they caught up with it.

1) Get out of people’s bedrooms. There is no mandate for a morality police force.

2) A sizeable majority of the electorate think government has absolutely no buisness injecting itself in discussions between a person and their doctor. See #1

3) End your love affair with a megalomaniac. Trump accomplished next to nothing as President. Regardless if one thinks it was someone else’s fault because the media was mean to him it doesn’t matter. At the end of the day he was next to useless. Do we really want 4 more years of nothingness?

4) For God’s sake bring some new and younger leadership. The party needs to reimagine itself to be more consistent with today’s reality.

5) It’s the economy stupid. That issue constantly polls at the top of people’s concerns. Seek out potential candidates who can clearly articulate an economic future that is viable and easily ACCEPTABLE to a majority of Americans.

6) Flush out firebrands quickly, before they can establish a foothold. They need the party much more than the party needs them.

7) Plan ahead, way ahead and groom candidates by working them up from local offices. That way potential candidates can be throughly vetted before they find themselves in a runoff. Think Hershel Walker and Dr Oz. What could be stupider than the anti-abortion party running a candidate that has paid to have a few of his progeny aborted? Perhaps the fiscal conservatives supporting a snake oil selling infomercialist?

I admit I thought the Republicans were going to make significant gains in the House and Senate due to the Biden effect. Having failed to do so supports my argument above.

Disclaimer:: I’m not a Republican. Just tend to vote that way. Registered as an Independent 39 years ago. Never changed. I tend to describe myself as a right of center pragmatic. IMHO the pendulum has swung too far left and it needs to swing back the other way.

In Arizona, a usually slightly conservative state, it appears the democrats are going to win most of the state and national offices. In a year where there was a clear consensus that the inflation/economic issues were well in their favor the Republicans appear to have pissed it away. I'm pretty sure Trump's endorsements hurt also.

Turns out that people really don't want a hard line, no exceptions on abortion, candidate making their choices for them.

+ 1 on the initial post and your second post.

Am not a Republican, but voted, and not for a single Democrat. A mixture of independents, libertarians and four Republicans.

And when it came down to the Senate race, I couldn’t vote for Ron Johnson. Left that Trumpsucker to die on the vine alone. Wasn’t ticked off enough to vote for Mandela Barnes. The non Johnson vote was satisfying enough.

Now Republicans know what it felt like for Hillary and her supporters on the morning after.
Unfortunately for everyone from the center right, there is no Morning After pill. 💊

Abrignac, that's quite a list of what and who to blame. I could criticize many points. Some of it sounds kinda LEFTIE, but you are somewhere around the center of something, so that's to be expected. C'mon MAN! A morality police force in people’s bedrooms? Abortion? TDS?

You have omitted the one glaring thing on why there weren't "significant gains in the House and Senate due to the Biden effect." You've got to put the blame where it ultimately resides. The wisdom of representative government installed via democratic mechanisms ultimately creates a sizeable, unpredictable majority of the electorate that are idjuts that exercise their "sacred" right to vote. It is the rot of this political system as it has steadily devolved and debauched over time, most notably accelerated since the Progressive Era. It's DUHMACRACY MAN!

John Adams, who is not my favorite president by any means nonetheless penned this truth bomb in a letter to John Taylor on December 17, 1814

Quote:
“I do not say that democracy has been more pernicious on the whole, and in the long run, than monarchy or aristocracy. Democracy has never been and never can be so durable as aristocracy or monarchy; but while it lasts, it is more bloody than either. … Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide. It is in vain to say that democracy is less vain, less proud, less selfish, less ambitious, or less avaricious than aristocracy or monarchy. It is not true, in fact, and nowhere appears in history. Those passions are the same in all men, under all forms of simple government, and when unchecked, produce the same effects of fraud, violence, and cruelty. When clear prospects are opened before vanity, pride, avarice, or ambition, for their easy gratification, it is hard for the most considerate philosophers and the most conscientious moralists to resist the temptation. Individuals have conquered themselves. Nations and large bodies of men, never.”

My mother in law honestly believes what she hears in campaign commecricals, so that is the most she is ever willing to learn about a candidate. She votes D like her life depends on it because they use dark tones and scary words in their attacks on R candidates.

I wish I was kidding.

We all know the type, It's a sizeable majority of the duhmacratic electorate that takes in the rhetoric without reflection.
I'd ask Abrignac what he thinks, but he seems kinda sleepy.

Ray once said he’d like a Republican who is the right to Trump. To the right.

Ray might be the deepest cover Democrat of all time. Only a dem would promote a Republican to the right of Trump.

Heck, there would be a chance Hillary could beat that candidate.

Whatever you say, John. LOL
How dare you, don't you know I'm an extremist to the right of those MEGA MAGA'S?
So are you sayin' somebody to the left of Trump would be better? Remember, they already tried that and ended up with O'Bummer.

I vote for CANDIDATES THAT DID NOT "GREENLIGHT ME"
( THAT NIXES BARRY OBAMMY AND JOE STRANOSA)
AND FOR CANDIDATES THAT HATE THE F.B.I.
AS MUCH AS I DO ( McCain & TRUMP)
& I'm a lifelong Democrat...

MY second most important voting point is their stance on gun control...I am N.R.A. ALL THE WAY...

ABORTION SCHA-MORE-SHON...I don't plan on any unwanted pregnancies coming down the pike ( unless a super hot 29 yr old swedish model gash or 90 LB Asian gash spinner hottie picks me up in the near future?)so it ain't high on my list..

My $$$ INCOME AND LACK OF IT IS MY THIRD MAIN CONCERN...
